Hi there. Other past past week I have become very accustomed to being on the forums, reading and interacting with people. It would be interesting if forums users could read the ban apeals. Not in the archive but as they come... We would not be able to comment on them just read them! Also maybe if there was an automatic poll added to them so users could vote whether or not they think they should be unbanned. Ultimately it would be the decision of the mod that banned the player to make the final say. I think this would be great to have player input to the say if the ban is approved of denied as we are the ones that have to play the game with people that break the rules. Let me know what you think....
No Support, If this was in the forums, People would vote to get Queen, Fatal, Abdul, and etc unbanned. However, there could be people who will abuse ban appeals to stay banned. (think about the person who only got banned 1 time)
No support. Ban appeals were once public years ago but they made it private for a reason, at least till it gets archived so I really don't see any reason to make users able to read the ban appeals while they arent archived, same thing for the poll as it would be useless.
No support We can't vote to unban people this can lead to issues like arguments and a lot more issues, people can be bias causing unfair judgement. moderators are neutral and keep and open mind to anyone who appeals me being someone who used to be banned and appealed a lot I wouldn't like people to read my appeal while its active. That can lead to more arguments of someone disliked me they could message a moderator and make accusations therefor affecting the moderators decision.
I do see where you guys are coming from actually. I guess I never thought about it in that way being a peacy guy and all Just thought I would ask the question. No harm in asking ☺️
No support, I mean there are a few people that do deserve an unban like sean but it takes away the privacy about the ban appeal. Plus once its archived, its available for the public to look at it so no point in making a suggestion regarding users to read ban appeals Also if it is an issue you can make a thread about it in suggestions man Well a lot of people didn't like queen, and (maybe?) fatal. Not sure about abdul, so there isn't a point to vote for them anyways, plus the votes would be biased by a large margin
Allowing people to vote for whether people could get unbanned shouldn't be a thing, because it would lead to unnecessary arguing, neutral for the rest
I think that the system is just fine as it is; there really isn't a need for players to view ongoing ban appeals, especially when it involves sensitive/personal information that the original poster would not like for others to be able to view. The ban appeal section should be a place for users to freely discuss their ban with the staff member that punished them, until a conclusion is reached, without needing to worry about how others would perceive the issue, especially when they may not know the full story. It gives the player a chance to discuss their punishment with the staff team, in a private setting, as they can always delete their post if they do not want for it to be viewed after it has been resolved; there are over thirty pages of deleted threads in the archives. While there is nothing wrong with players looking through archived threads that have already been resolved, the main purpose of the section is to provide a way to organize ban appeals, allowing us to easily search for ban appeals from any specific user if a staff member wants to research the player's previous offenses before making a decision. That is why the titles are almost always changed to match a specific format, usually containing something along the lines of: [Username] Offense/Ban Message [Assigned Staff Member] [Outcome] This allows us to easily search through the ban appeals, either for a specific player, or ban appeals that a specific staff member has handled. As mentioned before, it's not really intended for public viewing, but rather as a way to organize the threads. I personally wouldn't mind if it was hidden to regular users, in a similar way to the ongoing appeal section, but I do understand that some may find it entertaining or informative to see how they are usually handled. That being said, I still stand by my original opinion that the ongoing ban appeal section should be hidden, as it really won't help to make it public, and will most likely only cause arguments or personal issues.
I would think that if players could see ban appeals as they came through, it would cause a lot more unnecessary drama for both staff & the players involved. It's okay being able to look at them in the archives since the decision has already been made on whether the player's ban appeal should be accepted or declined. As Michael said, some people prefer to not have their ban appeals public to the community and prefer to have them deleted after it has been resolved.
No Support Ban appeals shouldn't be available to the public until resolved due to privacy reasons and etc. Right off the bat its already bad enough and a bit nosy that you want to see other people's business and although you have good intentions and do not mean any harm you by yourself doesn't represent how the rest thinks. As stated in previous comments the system is already fine as it is.
What's the point of allowing us to input our say when in the end it would be the decision of the mod to decide the final outcome? We should allow people to have their right to appeal without having any sort of judgments against them.
I completely understand why you would want to see ban appeals. You are curious, and I respect that because so am I! I believe you would be able to read ban appeals without causing any trouble, but it's obvious that some (most?) people would start unnecessary arguments/drama over them. So no, I wouldn't like them to be public.
I mean my main source of entertainment on forums comes from reading the ban appeals lol but I don't think this is needed, at least I know I wouldn't personally use the vote button. I get it's just for fun but this server has a habit of ruining things when they try to "improve" them. I'd just leave it be tbh
100% should be able to see ban appeals you used to be able to. you shouldn't be able to vote but you should be able to say something about it.
(not suitable for the given reasons above) Thank you so much for taking the time to make a suggestion! Unfortunately, your suggestion has been declined. Your suggestion may have not been possible, needed, etc. This thread has been moved to the Forums Suggestions - Archive.
