Support! I don't see any downside to this. It wouldn't cause chat spam and would be very useful for people that don't have access to /nick ... I don't like the idea of making it skytitan+, as the whole idea of it if making it easier for d25 (skyking?) Or less to express that they are AFK. (Maybe the skytitan+ perk could be announcing it in public chat for everyone).

Neutral, I can see how it is useful - but if it's only for friends it rather defeats the point. This would be most useful for the players who run shops and require notifications for restock requests or special items - it's unlikely you'll always have those players in /friends, so you won't see if they're AFK in chat which defeats the point.

I just don't really see the point for this command for anyone other than staff - you still have /mail and the ability to change your nick name to say you're AFK. Generally, if someone doesn't respond for a long time they're most likely AFK.

The reason staff have it is because often we give slow replies if we're busy with multiple people at once, and as it pings out a notifcation, someone knows to go to another online staff rather than waiting and spamming. Sometimes, it doesn't work because the player doesn't read the message and you get spam regardless asking if you're ignoring them, which obviously is not the case.

So this has a lot of potential to be useful, but also a lot of potential to go very wrong.

Neutral leaning no support because there would be a lot of spam for people with many friends and not everyone would even get the information they would need to understand that you are AFK if you are not their friend. For example, if you are AFK at a grinder and someone is asking you a question about your shop, if they aren't your friend, they wouldn't even know until they realize it themselves.

There may be another solution to this however as maybe when you do /afk, anybody that tries to message you gets a notification that you are afk.

I like this idea. Especially if it only displays the message to the players friends and the reply is to the player who sent the private message.

Neutral, I can understand why the community would like to have this command, but in reality it’s just not necessary. The reason staff members have an AFK privilege is so that when we are not at our computers for a period of time, people don’t think we’re ignoring them or not replying to their messages. Compare that to a normal player, it doesn’t particularly matter because usually a message won’t be incredibly important. Moreover, players have already got a system whether it’s writing in chat “afk” or just changing their nickname to AFK_Username or something like that.

On one hand I can see why this can benefit some people, but on the other hand this could still be abused, some people have many friends and it could interfere with their chat a lot too, especially if people then go spam the command. I like the idea of if someone messaged you it automatically says that you’re AFK, but that’s just about it.

    :)

How about a setting that can turn the AFK notifications off so when someone does/afk you wont see the message

    Thinking neutral.

I don't want to get a notification by any means when someone goes AFK. What I would be interested in, though, is having donors have access to /afk, but it's output is suppressed. That way you get a notification when you message someone that's AFK, but you don't have to see it in chat beforehand.

Outside of that, I'm fine with just changing my name to "AFKRedstone" when I'm AFK. I know many other players already do this, as Southwark brought up.

I can also show you how to setup automated messaging systems like T0W0 uses with his alts, so it'll auto reply when you're AFK. But that's a bit excessive, and just putting "AFK" in your name should be enough for someone to see when they message you.

Neutral. If it was for everything then it should be silent to the point where when someone msg you it says: This player is AFK but without the entire spamming in chat thing.

No support, people have generated so many bots and they can just spam /afk really annoying for anyone. It would start to be funny but as time goes on it'd be tiring, they have VPN's for banip so that won't work.

support. Unless you have a ton of friends, I can see why it would get spammy, but if you're like me with 4-5 then it shouldn't be really spammy imo
