Trying to make pixel art on your island can be really frustrating when you cant have your spawn centered on the map. Ever since the 1.8 update, minecraft maps follow a grid.

What im suggesting is that a plugin is created so that maps are centered based on where the player is standing. This really has no downside, and rather many upsides. This would greatly benefit map makers, and maybe bring island map arts into a larger part of the server's economy.

When I first tried making a map of my island only a quarter of my island was shown because of this

 

Support, I always had troubles with trying to make a map or something and it turns out something that I don't want everytime lol.

I have the same issue, the only problem I see is that I don't know if it would be possible for a plugin to fix this.

 

I think Lee can take the source from minecraft versions 1.7.x and below and maybe utilize that with its map functions. I have no knowledge of how plugins work but thats my best guess.
