Have you ever tried to suck items out of shop-chests? It wont work. But why? Its because the stupid hopper would suck out both - what u sell & what u want. Thinking about this problem, i found a solution that would also bring some more benefits.

Imagine a item WHITELIST for hoppers.

You could suck out the specific item you want. But you can also use it to sort items and to make hopper payment circuits, for example in casinos. But the greatest advantage would be, that you get rid of the redstone lagg caused by common item sorters. And you would lose the secound hopper that is used and causes lagg too. It would improve the server performance in several ways.

This could be done if you use some renamed paper that you could buy in /warp grass as an WHITELIST ITEM. You easily put an item in the first slot of the hopper and fill the other slots with this whitelist item. Then you could also pull out items of shop-chests.

Please tell me your oppinion to this idea.
    Thank you for your time

So in a summary, you are trying to suggest instead of having item sorters, we should rather have a built in 'piece of paper' that 'whitelists' and sorts items for us? Reducing the redstone usage and hopper usage?

Exactly. Now you could say that you can do this with redstone too, but if you look closely to the shop system you will mention that this could also be done with redstone. And technically its better to let the items be sorted from the cpu than from redstone. And thats why it reduces lagg.

Thank you so much for taking the time to make a suggestion!

Unfortunately, your suggestion has been declined.

By design, chest shops do not allow item movement via hoppers. This is to ensure that only the shop owner can access the contents of the chest.
