Hello sky block, When I was flying around I found a few other islands, they were basically untouched. These people weren't on the server for like 2 months and I would like it if a player is inactive for months then their island could be deleted because I would like to see more active islands around me.

Please answer the poll to see if you guys would like this too.

No support, some players leave for months, even years and if they come back, they should come back to their island not an empty island. If you had to be gone for 2-6 months, and you came back and all of your progress was deleted, wouldn’t you feel like no longer continuing? I know I would after how hard I worked on my islands. Especially with my alts island that has over 100 spawners placed.

I support this. I think though that the time has to be 6 months and the player must not have built much (i.e if the island has 100 blocks then it will be recycled after 6 months, if it had more than 100 blocks it would remain.) The reason why I say 100 blocks is because that’s around the starter island number of blocks, so if they’re inactive and haven’t built much on they’re island - they’ve probably quit. I’d also like to include that if the island has chests with items in it; the island would not be recycled. This does not include the starter chest and items.

 

Neutral, I mean what if the player was on vacation or had some stuff going on with him? But the reason I'm sticking with neutral cause there are some players who barely built anything and had gone inactive for months so it would nice to have active neighbours

I don't want Toro's Island to be deleted. and some people might be on summer vacation or on the holidays

 

No support. I've taken a year's break before and was glad to come back to see my island. If I'd come back to see that all 4 of my islands had been destroyed, I'd be distraught.

 

semi support. i went away for 2 years and returned. had my island been erased id have been devastated. but i do agree with many people join play for 20 mins and find it too difficult and leave. never to return. 2 islands around me are like this. in fact they haven't even broke a single block on the island it is exactly as the starter island was. these i feel should be giving away after a while if its been UNTOUCHED only.

 

How about move inactive islands to an "inactive" zone?
And reset the old locations?
Any enthusiastic coder who would want to sacrifice his vacations for that idea?

 

The new server hasn't even been out for a year yet, no islands need resetting yet.

 

i like this idea unfortunately it would probably require shutting down for like 2-6 hours every time they wanted to move islands around. and what happens when a player rejoins is it left there or moved again back to the "active zone"

 

I support the idea. Technically you can say, that an island level 0 without any crafting table and an 2 month absent owner can be removed. Thera are also many farmed islands that dont have any owner and have to be removed too.

 

I'm neutral. I get players that join for a day, and never come back, and active neighbors are nice, but at the same time if someone has progress, and they go on vacation or are dealing with personal issues, they can't just come back to a personal island. So if the owner was to implement this feature, it'd overall be a bad decision in my mind.

 

This is a great idea, only if it happened like SouthWark said, only removing and recycling the island if it has fewer than 100 blocks... I'm sure no one would be distraught or upset that their island has been recycled when they'd only made a cobble platform and cobble generator at the most, which can easily be built up again within 5 minutes.

 

Support, but I think that the time should be longer than 2 months as some people might take long breaks or something. Either 6 months - 12 months

 

Neutral, but Southwark’s idea would definitely be the best way to implement this system. I’d assume player losing 100 blocks after a long period of inactivity would not be devastated to the point of not returning.

 

No support I personally have left for a year then came back if I came back and my island was deleted it would be devastating I also don’t think it would cause less lag as the island is just a starter island and there’s nothing happening to it to cause lag
