I've been noticing a huge amount of lag on the server, noted that my island is causing a lot of it, usually when there is a server restart, there is little to no lag. However, there is only 1 server restart every 24 hours. I feel like there needs to be 2 restarts daily, one every 12 hours.
I understand that there is that Noobcrew fears that restarting the server drops player count, but it's that, or people leaving because of constant lag. I really think that 2 server restarts will help the server lag a lot. Keeping in mind, it won't rid of the lag. Considering hoppers are the main reason lag is really bad on the server. I hope that you'll consider adding 2 server restarts a day, 1 every 12 hours.


This is just 7.4 hours after a restart.

Support I believe it is a thing on the /classic server. Sometimes the server gets so laggy and the next restart ( at 3 PM in my time) is in a few hours and by that time the server would be soo laggy asf. So having 2 restarts is a good thing to lower the TPS once every while and to kick some people who are afk grinding that are causing the TPS to lower

Your idea is a good one and we will bring it up. However before we do that would you mind holding off until June 6th or so? We have a few things in the works that may help ease the trouble. If our changes don't seem to be helping we can circle back to this or perhaps brainstorm some ways to cut back on excessive abuse.

Personally, I don't mind waiting, but the lag is getting pretty bad. I understand that there are things that can possibly help the lag in progress, however, I'd very much like it if even before then we still get a second restart implemented, and once the new things get implemented, if they cause the lag to drop then hopefully the second restart can be removed, or kept.

 

Read what myrm said, he's already aware that it's easy to add, but they are looking for ways to not need to restart.
