I am backed up with some right now or I'd take some in myself. It crushed me to see this many. Also, you should consider getting more, they're wonderful pets, but their life span is so short.

 

I'd pick some up but I don't own a vehicle so I can't get down to Bakersfield.

 

If you might know someone that can get you down there, let me know, I can teach you some of the ins and outs of basic rat care.

 

I live about an hour from LA and this is the first time I heard about this! I mean I could take one as my dorm pet but Bakersfield is 2-3 hours from where I live.

 

Yeah it’s close to 3 hours away from me too. And if you were able to get to one, you’d need two. Rats strive in pairs and should never be kept alone. ❤️

 

What happens if I keep one then?

 

Ugh I wish I lived in California D: They are so precious!!

 

Rats are social animals, meaning if kept alone they can develope depression, gain weight or stop eating. You also get cases where they go crazy and begin chewing their way out of cages, possibly hormonal aggression. The list goes on.

They sure are, from what I heard over half have been rescued.

 

I stand corrected all but one rat is left.

That's sad. I don't live in California, I live in Arizona. So I can't really pick them up.

There is one female left, she's a double rex/patchworks, you could probably get her a friend. but intros are difficult to manage, but sometimes have better luck with girls.
