I have been a victim of clag more than 10 times and I have lost over 20 diamonds worth of rares and stuff. Clag happens way too often and this has to stop! I get the fact that it is supposed to help but really it is damaging more than it is helping! and the whole /lostandfound thing really is useless because it doesn't give you anything back except a bucket or so. It should give you back everything. This is kinda annoying. I mean I keep dying in warp mob and Every single time it happens again and again and again. It really is dumb! I hate to be so intense about this, but I have lost SO many rares by this. I'm sure you have been a victim more than once, and really it is annoying. to be honest, clag happens like every 2 minutes! It makes it literally impossible to retrieve items!

    Please fix this!

You're supposed to lose all your items. They drop, it's part of the game. If you don't want to risk losing your items, don't go to places where your god mode turns off.
Clearlag is there to clear all the ground items for a reason. It doesn't wipe items every minute, which is great.

    Neutral.
    Why?
Although I have been a victim of clag many times, and I agree it should be longer, but I disagee at the same time because the server lags too much, and clag really helps with the lag.

I guess maybe an increase in time would be good, but just a little bit.

agreed it should be at least every 10 or 20 mins , depending on what its at already after all there is no over world and your platforms are limited , or maybe in game chat can be slowed down so it can actually be seen lots of players dont even focus on chat so maybe a center screen alert when it first starts so we are more alert about it

No support, there's times when clear lag's highly needed, as it's reached its max amount of items which can be removed.

I feel like with the recent changes made by Lee, which can be found here, this suggestion has become rather obsolete.

    I understand your frustration. :/

I know it wasn't really documented anywhere before yesterday, but before we opened the new server, we added certain blocks to the list of items that won't be removed by ClearLag. This included things like grass blocks, diamonds, emeralds, diamond and emerald blocks, beacons, diamond tools and armor, heads, and even banners (since at the time players selling banners didn't really didn't have many options that didn't involve tossing them to buyers, though now that we have trade chests, this may make less sense now). Yesterday, we added spawners to the list, since we'd gotten a few reports of players losing them to ClearLag when breaking them, and I added a note in the server change log providing the full list of exempt items.

We can add to the list if there's anything particularly important you think we may have overlooked. Feel free to open a suggestion to make specific items to the list.

The best advice I can give you is to be very careful when breaking blocks or dropping items when the ClearLag warnings start. Back when I was mostly helping players on the classic server as a moderator, I set up TabbyChat on my client and added a rule to make it play a sound whenever a ClearLag warning was displayed. It saved me lots of times when I was about to break or drop something important, especially when fixing or enchanting items for other players. I felt awful one time when a player threw me a diamond axe to repair before I could warn them about clearlag. :sorry:

Just to clear up some confusion about LostAndFound, that just saves essential starter items that are illegal to drop or trade. This is currently limited to dirt, plain sand (not red sand), and all types of buckets. It's really meant to help new players who would otherwise lose their bucket if they fall into void while carrying it.

On my first day playing on the server, I lost my bucket when I fell while building my island. I had spent about eight hours mining cobblestone and had made a lot of progress building a cobblestone castle, when I fell to my death while carrying my bucket. When I realized it was gone, I was so sad. I asked in chat if anyone would be willing to trade me a bucket in exchange for a gently used bow, and when I was answered by a chorus of "ILLEGAL!!1!!" I resigned myself to my fate and sadly set about the task of tearing down my castle so I could start over again, only to learn too late that starting a new island cleared my inventory without warning. :/

These experiences helped me improve the design for the new server. When starting an island, only items such as dirt, sand and buckets are removed from your inventory now, instead of everything you're carrying. If you die while carrying these essential items, they're saved for you in Lost and Found and you get them back by using /lnf, /lostitems, or /lostandfound as long as you do it before the server restarts. And if you drop a diamond axe to ask a friend to repair or enchant it for you, ClearLag won't gobble it up. :)

But you still have to be careful about breaking anything important or dropping valuable items on the ground. Spawners in particular have a nasty habit of clipping through one-block-thick platforms or flying off in random directions when you break them. Nearby players who might be disguised or invisible might see you rearranging your mob grinders and be tempted to swoop in to snag a spawner or two hoping you won't notice. And this is Skyblock, after all. Things (and players) do fall into the void from time to time, so you have to be careful and stay safe!

So while I'm afraid we can't really get rid of ClearLag (we have lots of mob grinders that drop unwanted items that tend to accumulate, we clear lag helps clean them up regularly to reduce lag) there are other things we can do to help reduce the frustration from losing hard-earned items that are difficult to replace.

Thanks for making this suggestion, though. I hope you'll keep thinking of ways to help make the server better! :)
