    So I usually never respond to these kinds of messages but as everyone stresses over and over again, the server is in a decline, so I'm here to offer a small solution. So here it is in plain simple terms: If we all like a suggestion, add it to the damn server. So what if the developers don't find the suggestion practical, its matter of if we the people want the new addition. If the staff doesn't except what the majority of the people are looking for or want, no one will find interest in the game.

    Now, of course, I'm not saying add everything we want but if you, a staff member or a developer, see that a thread has gained much support from about 80-85% or more, you should add/fix what we agree on. There are rarely additions to skyblock server, besides the very beginning of the reset, but otherwise, everything pretty much stays the same. If server stays the same, it will eventually, in time, get dull and lifeless for players. That is why we see so many come and go, maybe come back again but eventually leave one more.

    What do we think?

    Good afternoon, Reformations.

    I apologize for the length of time between replies: As you can imagine there are a lot of suggestions and we try to prioritize the most helpful first. This can lead to a long wait for some threads if there is not a clear benefit to the discussion. To address your concerns:

    First and foremost I would like to thank you for wanting to help the server. You seem frustrated over low player counts and lack of feedback; this is entirely understandable. However I have good news! Since the 1.12 release our average daily player count has increased nearly 254% and our monthly "max players connected" is pretty steady at around 200:

    That brief surge to 400 was rather enjoyable as well.

    So there is no need to be worried about a "decline"; you can rest easy, sir.

    However as you mentioned player feedback and server improvements are extremely important. Fixing problems and adding features is always a good thing! The more a community feels listened to the happier everyone is. After all where would we be without suggestions from you and other concerned players?

    Unfortunately I am sure you understand not every suggestion can be implemented regardless of how supported it is. Some ideas have technical limitations or simply aren't feasible to put in (even if they would be amazing). Other suggestions seem workable at first but, upon review, would cause large destabilization in our dynamic. This is a complex topic and balancing expectations vs ability is a tough thing to do.

    Some players are unaware of underlying complexities that would stop a suggestion from working. In these cases feedback would be appropriate to explain the problem and either close the suggestion or make changes to work around it. However those sorts of in-depth replies and explanations use up the one resource we simply don't have: Time.

    Currently Leeeroieee and I (with a side order of Matt) are the only Developers. While Leeeroieee is a SkyNet model sent back in time to crush Java bugs I am a bit less high speed. Both of us have limited hours we can dedicate 100% of our attention to a laundry list of updates.

    The solution, of course, is to prioritize. Bug fixing gets the most attention, followed closely by gameplay and efficiency improvements. Features (suggestions) are considered last.

    Implementing a feature is a complex process that starts with an idea, like yours. First we have to see if it is even possible, which sometimes takes a surprising amount of effort. If a suggestion is possible we have to figure out if it will affect other gameplay mechanics, sometimes in unexpected ways (Gravel in the Nether for example). Once we feel like we understand all of the possibilities only then does some groundwork and programming get done, followed by a lot of testing to find exploits and bugs.

    And all of this is, of course, interrupted when a new emergency pops up.

    This is a long-winded way of saying: We are working and we do pay attention to ideas and suggestions. I apologize if you don't see the benefit right away or do not receive a fast response; we are only human. Except Leeeroieee. He's a robot.

    Kind regards,
    //Myrmidous
