Have you ever noticed you could only spawn where your bedrock is? Gets annoying right? Well at least for me. That's why I want to suggest /spawnpoint. It'll allow players to set their island spawnpoint to what they wish to be. The player could only set the spawnpoint on a solid block, and it could not be lower than the void. this shouldn't be allowed to be put in any hazardous area, like in lava or wherever, and of course, not have the spawn point be floating in the air (aka going into /fly mode and typing /spawnpoint in the air), not having the spawn point be underwater, etc.
Might I add to this suggestion? You can edit this info into the original message if you wish. I suggest that this shouldn't be allowed to be put in any hazardous area, like in lava or wherever, and of course, not have the spawn point be floating in the air (aka going into /fly mode and typing /spawnpoint in the air), not having the spawn point be underwater, etc. Support for this to be added into. I get questions from new people if they can change their spawn point or how do I set my spawn point or whatever. Please add this in Leeeroieee as it will solve many problems that people have.
Neutral. This could be useful, however if a person sets their spawnpoint on a block other than the bedrock, and someone breaks the block, either intentionally or on accident, I am assuming that they would teleport to their old spawnpoint, and fall into the void. I would only like to see this implemented if it can be guaranteed that this won't happen, and a system is put in place where the spawnpoint is automatically moved to the bedrock if there is no solid block under the previous spawnpoint, because not all players have access to /fly. I assume this would be difficult to do, which is why I am going with neutral.
ooops my bad XD It's a great idea, but I think the current spawn point is just fine. Plus if we move the spawn point somewhere else, what's the point of bedrock? Bedrock was there for a reason. It's meant to be as a spawn point, like all other skyblock islands maps. We can't break bedrock so its stuck there forever. Neutral
You must be new, so let me explain in the most basic way possible. Pressure plate traps. Easy to make and dont count as a hazard. Now before you say "Just make it so u cant spawn near em" you're making more unnecessary steps to add such a pointless addition to the server. The server should fix all the bugs and nerf all the op blocks before they add stuff like this, which isn't necessary for the survival of the server. So no, I will not read your edit again.
But you can still make traps even if the spawnpoint is set on a soild block. I mean, people can still make traps with the regular spawn point so... eh. The issue is if you switch the spawn point are you going to also be changing the position of the bedrock? Because that position is very important. Also if you set a spawn point and forget, then mine the block you could end up in a not so good situation, hence why bedrock is used. If you cannot mine the block you choose as your new spawn block, for instance, then there would need to be a way to unbind it from it. The point being there is probably going to be a lot of tuning to get a safe way to change your spawn point, and even though it is very requested I don't really see a tonne of benefits except for people that may have build their island a certain way and didnt take into account the bedrock. Perhaps a warp plugin would be more ideal since you can set a warp, staff can check for death warps and there is no tampering needed. Only allowing the island owner to set a warp at their own island shouldn't be overly difficult.
If your spawnpoint was a 'hazardous area', where would you teleport to? Would you teleport to the nearest solid block in a certain radius? What if you set your spawnpoint over an area completely encased in lava? Would you just not be able to teleport back? (Such as the 'Hole in the floor' error for warps) Also defining a 'hazard' could be difficult as you'd have to check the block of the spawnpoint and surrounding blocks against a list of all hazards, which could cause lag.
If the command was used in lava or air, or a trap that can be used for other players will automatically be denied. Only with solid blocks.
No support, it should remain above an unbreakable block for the safety of other players. As suggested above the idea of a warp command may be better, but even so that has limits and could be abused.
Nah, only because for pressure plate traps and other trolling. Just unnecessary tbh. Just build a nice spawn under bedrock.
