If you guys explore enough into the nether youll notice that fortresses dont spawn for possibly 3 thousand blocks rather than the previous few hundred to possibly 1000 blocks. I dont know if the nerf was intentional, but it exists nonetheless. Does anyone know/heard from the owners and any other staff involved in adding/removing/changing features on the server about this change? Its honestly unfair for anyone who doesn't hop into the nether minutes after a reset.
I agree. I visited the nether after the reset but players had already looted all the fortress I found, and it took me a good hour and a half to find only 2 fortress
It was hard to find the nether fortresses this time compared to when the nether was launched. They were probably decreased.
They shouldnt have done that since it was already difficult to get fortresses before the reset since we have so many players going into the nether, doesnt make sense to make them rarer unless there are less players playing the server, and its ESPECIALLY a problem that they dont mention it, the staff needs to be more transparent about these things its so annoying
The nether reset was announced a week in advance in-game at login. Sorry you missed the notification. I usually post a server update thread in the change log the same day we make a change, but I was getting ready for a trip and forgot to ask another team member to post one. That's totally on me. I've posted an update in the change log now in case anyone is still unaware. Just to clarify, though, we didn't make Nether fortresses any rarer than they were before. They're just in different locations because the nether has a different seed. We used a new random seed to change things up a bit, and to give other players a chance to find a new nether fortress that other players hadn't looted yet. Sorry for any confusion.
Well this random seed is very disheartening, literally now it feels like we have 3x less fortresses, can we call for a reset in 2 weeks if I post a poll?
I honestly don’t see an issue. The nether fortresses give pretty nice loot and should be at least a challenge to find. I mean the nether itself isn’t a challenge because there isn’t as many mobs. The first time we lucked out with the seed. At least they aren’t as rare. Perhaps trying to use portals in islands that are further away to get a better nether spawn.
So when the nether newly reset, as soon as I got home from school I got on the server and I was on for like 4-6 hours looting/looking [mostly looking] for fortresses, and some unlooted ones were merged with other fortresses and other weird stuff with the seed and such. But since the nether being open I have an entire shulker full of horse armor so I guess thats a plus. But since the recent reset I have noticed a lack of fortresses spawning and or there being any unlooted ones left... And this is what, 3 days after the reset.
When the nether was reset I went there and spent 3 hours trying to find nether fortresses aka I travelled about 5500+ blocks as I also was trying to find quartz too and on my way I have found about 4-5 nether fortresses so I am alright with this. Ima hope the next new nether seed should have plenty of nether fortresses to hunt around but I like how its challenging anyways.
