So I've played this server for about a week now and I enjoy one of the mini-games called "Mob Arena" which allows you to go through a series of waves to hopefully end up with a nether star on completion. During my time, I've noticed a few things that may make the experience better or more of a "Slice of life" update to the arena.

Boss Health Bar

As some of you may know - fighting bosses can take time without seeing any real progress. My suggestion would be added a health bar onto it or even something prompting it in the chat. The first time playing and even now, I don't have a clue when it will die which means I cannot prepare for the next wave resulting in extra damage.

Here's an example that may be used:



Bosses ability

I'll use the skeleton one for this example; every time the boss shoots its arrow, it spams "Shoot Arrow" which not only annoying but useless if that's it's only attack. To touch on what I said above, you could have it spawn with it's stats instead.

Example being:

Skeleton
Health: 100
Ability: Shoot Arrow

Arena Chat Only

Since this a team game, there isn't a way to communicate with them. If someone types; it gets lost in the lobby chat with everyone else. I understand some people do like it on, so many have a toggle option to support those who would like to talk with their teammates.

Specs draw mobs attention

When someone comes to watch the game, they can draw mobs attention on them which defeats the purpose of survival. Only suggestions I can think of is ghost spec mode, have the ceiling higher or have a different spectating area.

Upgrade wave

This one isn't a big issue but saying what item you got is always nice, not looking around to see what you have in your inventory.

Easier way to leave the arena

(This is for if you spectate a game or just join the lobby waiting for players)

Pretty simple. I want to leave the arena, I type /home, cannot use the command. I type /spawn, cannot use the command, I type /ma j leave, tells me to type /ma arenas. /ma arenas gives me available arenas which is only skyblock.

I feel /home or /spawn should work in the arena.

/Staff

You cannot use the command /staff in arena. I feel with the message saying "Hacking isn't allowed" we should be able to contact staff.

Are you talking about inside the arena?? Because you can do /home or /spawn once you're done with it, after typing /ma leave. And I think they don't work in the arena so that people don't tp away with the items within the kits.

Total support. An addition like this would mean people would be able to adapt the way they strategise the mob arena, and ultimately be able to defeat the boss in a more cohesive way - rather than "hitting until it's gone" with no clue on their progress.

It has the potential to attract more players to the game mode as well.

I Support all these ideas. There all very small ideas, not particularly necessary but all together they really would tidy up the mob arena mechanics.

 

Thanks for the support! Overall I enjoy Mob Arena so I didn't want to change anything about it; But I thought it could do with a little sprucing it with some minor updates

 

Support especially for the boss health bar being visible to players as many were complaining when is the boss gonna die and also the mob arena chat in case someone wants to be healed and has to spam in order to get the healer's attention

 

Ahh this is all so true! You have my 100% support on every single aspect. I think that the bar above mobs is also especially good because it’s annoying because you think you’re not doing any damage but you are.

I support all of these ideas. Adding a boss health bar and an arena-only chat would be very useful, along with the other suggestions.

 

Support. The boss health bar would be a really useful addition and the MA chat would be really good as it can help medics know when to heal without having to read all the msgs in public chat.
