Ok look, the answer is 7. I only started the thread because I wanted to know why. I've done this problem for a while and stilll have not found out why.
Imgur: The magic of the Internet I misunderstood the problem at first, which is why it is 7, not 28. The work is shown on the paper, but I will explain it here too because the pencil is kind of light, and my camera is not that good. You first start out with a width of one foot. When the width increases by 120%, you add the original width to the new number. So the first one is 1 + (1*1.2) which is 2.2. If the problem is written as a series, you can say that: a1 = 2.2 an+1=an + (1.2* an) Factoring this gives an+1=2.2(an) This is basically saying that the next term is 2.2 multiplied by the value of the term you are on. This means that you just multiple the term by 2.2 to get the next one. At the sixth term, you get around 113, which is not quite 150 yet. The term after that gives a value more than 150. Because the number of times that you run the program has to be an integer, you have to run it 7 times because 6 times will not make it large enough.
I told you that you could have them originally. You still get them. It took me about 30 minutes to realize why I was getting the wrong answer haha.
You came online just to say that and went offline? You were always a weird one. And fyi that’s a bandaid
ur all dumb just stop posting here no one knows math becuz all dumb the answer is 999, 666, 21, 1000 and send memes k thx
it is ≈ 28. or ≈2.8 150 x 12 = 12 (1.2) (to the power of x) 150 = 1.2 (to the power of x) x = 7 The answer is 7 times. Okay so it is: 150 = 1 (2.2)t Y = a. (1+r)t When t = 6 y = 113.38 When t = 7, Y = 249.44 Mabye this may make sence: 150 ≤ 12(1.2)t 12.5 ≤ 1.2t
