So, I have been sick for the past 3 days and due to extreme boredom, I decided to test out how different blocks contributed to island level. There may be some mistakes here and there so do correct me if required Okay, let's get into the guide. Island levels are complicated as it is determined by how large your island is and the type of blocks placed. From my trial and error findings, u do not get bonuses for expanding above and below. I am too lazy to see how many levels u gain from expanding sideways ;c The only hidden achievement I know is the first block placed will give u 1 level. However, if your first block placed is equal to 1 level or more than a level, the achievement will not trigger. Does anyone know how the Y level (vertical coordinate) of the blocks placed affect this. I have built a large platform at Y level 1, but my island level is still showing zero.
Building below Y coordinate 150-153 doesn't count toward your level at all. (Island level not calculated after a certain distance. | Skyblock Forums) Also, thanks for the thread Alohacc!! The strange things you do when you're ill :')
Currently Y=150 & R=50 Outside of that range, your level is not calculated. Developers are aware of the issue though it is not currently high on the priority list due to everyone crying about tradeshops being the first desired major plugin to be activated. So, don't expect your Island to get any higher level for building outside of the 99x99 original area, or 50 above or below your bedrock at this point in time.

Just placing 1 stone block till it increases 1 level to make sure my island level is for example, 1701 and not 1700.67. Then place the block i want to test till it reaches one more level. It took alot of /level and time ;c The inital process was tough tho, just mindlessly placing hundreds of blocks till i figured out when ur level is 1700.67, your island level is seen as 1700. There is no rounding up at all.

They have changed the value of ice, ! had an island level of over 10,000. I'm now down to 2531. Will have to take another tact to get back on top. It's now only worth 0.01 Poor form on behalf of the developers though. Moving the goal posts after the game has started.
