I'm planning to update the trade chest plugin to fix some glitches, incorporate some feature requests (such as allowing trapped chests to be used as well as regular ones), and modernize it to make it able to automatically recognize username changes the way private chests can.

I think double trade chests might be a good way to go for this. I am thinking of modifying the plug-in so that you only need a single trade chest sign above a double chest, and the same trade applies to both halves, instead of separate halves as they do now. This way, you can have a double trade chest sign with only one sign, and can use the other sign over a double chest to either specify a different trade for the same double chest, or maybe add a list of other chest trustees (similar to how a [More Users] sign works for Lockette).

I'm thinking this approach would allow things like this:

Idea 1: Volume discounts/bonuses

For this to work, the first person to put up a trade chest sign on either half would become the owner of the entire chest. The owner or any of the helpers for the trade chest would be able to restock the chest, but only the owner would be allowed to place, modify or break [Trade] signs, break either half of the chest or expand a single trade chest into a double one.

Any thoughts on something along these lines?

You can already do this in game with double chests meaning your name is on 1 sign while the other person is on the other. Either person can refill the whole chest

I mainly agree with this post as it strongly illustrates some points why it isn't a top priority at the moment, but for now id have to say support mainly because I am in a coop and would use this.

 

Support, though people could steal, thats something that can be easily punished for.
