Hello, Skyblock community, This is just a small thread regarding how you personally judge an application.

This is not an information type of thread, it is more of like a question.

What do you personally do when judging an applicant?

    do you:
    - Check their forum posts
    - Question their maturity
    - Wonder if they are "Ready" for the position
    etc.

The question: what steps do you take in judging?

I have the ability to read someone before even reading their app and deciding whether or not they'll be a good mod.

    I'm pretty much always right

I make sure they are discord and forums active. Being in game is easy, but not enough people pay attention to the forums or discord. Forums are proof that doesn't really go away so its easier to see how the person acts.

    1. Make sure they spend enough time on discord, The forums and in game

    2. Make sure there application is well written with no spelling mistakes and a good amount of spaces to make it easier to read

    3. Check how they have replied towards others and what others have said about them

(Sorry if there is any spelling mistakes I'm typing on my phone)

When I judge an applicant, the first thing I look at is activity, followed by being helpful and then maturity. Their reputation is important too, though. Also, the application itself has to be written perfectly.

The only thing I judge applications by is if the poster used enough colours. If your application doesn't look like a rainbow, can we really be certain you have enough dedication to the cause? Also, no rainbows means you're against gay people, and the staff team doesn't need homophobic people on it.

The player's activity on forums, discord and in game, how friendly and approachable they are, how detailed the application is (shows dedication) and how many vans they have had before (above 3 and I will give a no support).

Well to me I normally don't read applications I just judge the applicant on his/her personality, activity, if he/she is ready for that position and if he/she would be capable if being a great mod. But I rarely read applications, mostly for people who I think really deserve it aka Krissy or sometimes I read applications of players who I don't know in case it is plagiarized as it did happen a few times in the past but now it rarely happens.

    Normally I judge on:
    - Personality
    - Maturity
    - Activity across all platforms
    - How kind/approachable they are c:

    I judge based on:
    1. Reputation: Are they a good person? Do they have a reputation of being a rule breaker? Are they rude?
    2. Helpfulness on forums & in game: I look to see if they post a lot in help threads with valid information & if they’re correct, same for ingame.
    3. Application: Is it well written? Is it easy to understand? Is it truthful? Is it copied?
    4. History: Did they used to break rules? If it’s a reapplication, did they do good on the team?
    5. Activity: I go by the five hours a week rule. If you can’t come in-game for five hours a week, you shouldn’t be mod. Do they involve themselves in community discussions? The forums rule I go by is: Can they come online the forums for atleast 30 minutes a day?
And just some random questions to ask yourself:
Do they cause problems in the community?
Do they give correct and valid information when helping people?
Are they active? (5 hours a week ig, 30 mins a day forums)
    Are they friendly?
Do they have a lot of ban history?
    etc.
