Making the filter more "family friendly"

    Now too many times have people been warned for using "censored language". Some staff are fine and let it pass until people bypass is. Other staff think kids will understand the word behind the asterisks and it just isn't kid friendly. Well lets change this.

    If anyone remembers previously the filter would use a ":}" face when a word was filtered. This was good for a few reasons. It was child friendly, it didn't make words look inappropriate (such as how asterisks commonly are associated with swear words) and even though people liked to copy the face, there was no real harm in it.

    My suggestion involves going back to this kind of thing to filter words. Using a ":heart:" or a ": )" or even going back to using ":}"
    Since staff can see when someone swears still they can determine if what was said was disrespectful, excessive, racist or aimed at other users so people are no longer being punished for censored words and everything is nice and safe for kiddies. Remembering to understand the context would depend on prior knowledge of the word therefore still, safer than asterisks.

    Simple change, perhaps would keep younger players from finding out the word that was used since there would be no clues that it could be a curse word unless it is clear in the sentence.

    • I ask way to many donors / greenies to stop abusing censored words. If they still decide to not listen I have to ask a staff member. Usually I give them a warning but then I still see the ** so I believe this would be so helpful for staff and people who want a family friendly community.

    Constantly I see someone say something that isn’t meant to be filtered, and a whole load of people start spamming “Don’t swear”.
    Honestly, it’d be way better having people not even see that something was filtered.
    The asterisks bring way more attention to what was said. Support.

    There is another one as well that when u use a swear word it will change it to something other like ''f*** you'' will be Potato you, and ''I'm a hoe'' will be I'm a Unicorn

    Ideally I would have the word blank but yeah people don't look at the context as much as they see asterisks and claim it is swearing.
