Mini modding has been a thing in the skyblock community for ages, everyone has done it, especially if you're trying harding for staff.
If you don't know, mini modding is where a normal player that isn't a staff member acts as if they are, and gives out warnings to people such as saying "please dont bypass the filter".
by this being a thing, it causes alot of spam in the chat, because just about every donator does it all at the same time. I personally believe that mini modding in this sense shouldn't be allowed, because of this.
No, I'm not saying players shouldn't be allowed to answer questions in the chat, by doing that you're just being a helpful player, not minimodding.
What I am saying is that when someone breaks a rule in the chat, you should just report them and go about your business, not boss them around as if you're a staff member, that's just the way it should be.
Let me know your *unbiased* opinion on this. ty

Um i guess Mini Modding is fine, but only at some times. If there is not a mod on, then of course, people can help other people by telling them what is right and what they must not do it again. In the other hand, when a mod is on, no need to mini modding, since there is a REAL mod on. Overall, mini modding is fine for now, but it gets on your nerves as well.

My issue with mini-modding comes from players trying to give other players warnings when a mod is online and perfectly capable. There are times I think mini-modding is perfectly fine, such as when someone is spamming the heck out of chat and you need to warn them to try to get them to stop.

It is one of those things where I don't feel like a punishment is necessary because there are times when it is acceptable and it works faster than reporting and feel its just another annoyance to put up with if we choose to play here.

I think that it should be allowed, but only when players are not being rude to others about it, and it is kept to a minimum. I say it can take a bit too long to make a report sometimes. More mods that are very active could just make it so it doesn't need to be there in the first place

When there isn’t a mod online it is fine. Most of the time someone breaks a rule it is because they don’t know that it is really a rule. So having these ‘mini mods’ helps these player know what is wrong and right.

I knew this thread was gonna either get full support or no support at all, which is typical of the skyblock community bc everyone rides the popular opinion wave.
First off - everyone reads the rules when you first join the server, if not just about everyone, im pretty sure it says when you log in "do /rules" or something like that
Secondly - I personally don't believe a default player should be bossing around other default players. it's not right, it could give them the set of mind they're above the rules, which many players have thought this before
Lastly, while yes it helps players learn the rules, not everyone needs to be 100% educated on the rules, mostly it's common sense. most the time when people are getting warned in chat by the minimodders they're more then likely doing it purposely either because they really dont care or just to make the minimodders angry, and to overall antagonize them, and it works every single time which is the funniest part.
my opinion hasn't swayed at all, minimodding shouldn't be allowed, it's obnoxious, and theres no reason for it

No one ever reads the rules when they first join though.

    facts.

also may i point out the fact that imo, mini modding is acceptable if there is no mod online-- and/or if such a simple question was asked in public chat that you do not need to spam about it. warnings by players are fine, but mods are capable of handling chat when online

I think the most important thing is that players receive support when they have questions about the server or need help.

There are so many new players who want to trade dirt, accidentally turned their lava into obsidian, need a sapling, etc.

Instead of focusing on if someone is being bossy or not, try to reach out to those players in need. If minimodding happens, ignore it. The player who needs help matters the most.

The sooner the new player is helped, the more likely they are to stay.

Agreed as ive seen new players not getting any help therefore they quit.
I do say that no need for the player to mini mod as long there is a mod on but it is alright to mini mod if there isnt any mod long. As mini moding doesnt really hurts anyone but the important thing is helping people.

If you were staff, then I think you would appreciate these people lots more than you do - if at all. They help a lot when we are busy (most times) and when we are distracted from the chat when they warn someone verbally it can bring attention that we need to warn them. It also takes a lot of strain off a staff member if they already have people answering questions. I think it would be silly to add a chat rule saying “you can not mini mod”, it just sounds pathetic in my opinion and this server knows better.
