Hello i've came up with a great idea to stop people ruin your trade by walking trough it, TRADING CHAMBERS.
    So this is the idea:
You and your trading buddy go in a little chamber about 2x4 or something.
Then you pull the lever once inside and the door closes with pistons.
When finished trading, you pull the lever again and you can step out.
    Simple huh?
I'm thinking we can place multiple of this at /warp trade
Here is a screenshot of my idea made with glass :) 2012-10-29_08.28.38.png

This is a good idea but it's a little big. I mean, why use pistons when a simple iron door and a lever does the same thing?

I can just throw the item they are trading away from them, and it will group the items, and I have my item I threw and The traders. It needs to be 6 blocks between 2 items for them not to group

Skyblock is different than other Minecraft.
That is probably why there is a lot of worry about trade.
Skyblock's point it to do things solo, or at least in a small group, and make "everything" out of almost "nothing".
Being in public is dangerous, even more so because of limited land & limited transit routes.
If you carry stuff in public, whether trading or not, you are likely (eventually) going to die and maybe lose it. We all have, many times.
If you trade it, someone will find a way to scam it from the careless (and sometimes even from the careful).

They asked John Dillinger why he robbed banks.
He said "Because that's where the money is."
He was eventually killed, but the banks were still robbed.

So, don't trade. But if you have to, be careful. Use a lookout friend. Check the area first. Know & trust the once you trade with. Don't trade everything at once. Caveat emptor ;).

BTW, a trading chamber won't stop some scammer with /jump.

Ah, i love it when you direct hit me with that hard oneliners :)
But If you are a donator with /jump (wich i am) , why would you ruin trades of other people?
I mean, no one is going to spend 25$ just to annoy other peaple and maybe get banned.
The donators donate because they love the server and want to expand their island.
Of course there are people with bad meanings here but that are mostly no donators.
I mean, most people think this idea is stupid but why not just place it there for the people who Do want to trade safe?
I want justice in this server just like most people, but there's still lots of crime to fight.
This small idea can be a part of a big network of safety measures to fight the crime and get skyblock fair again :)

Always I start by saying trade is not a primary or secondary point of Skyblock, esp. the .net reference server.

Noobcrew and Luke have taken a lot of steps to assist trading.
Skyblock needed only a central spawn, and that was the cyan castle.
Trade was really hard in early/mid summer, but not impossible.
A steady expansion... first to the skyblock sign, then other areas esp. the facility by Luke, and the Nethertrade.
Then the ultimate expansion... the .ORG, which is an economy based Skyblock server.

With all that new public area... there will always be those that are scammed.
    Why?
Because they bring valuables off their island.

On another regular Minecraft server, I've a $1,500 donor banned, and lots of $400 and lower donors banned. Who would think?
Being donor only reflects having cash to help the server.
Not one's motives or intentions in game.

    So, Caveat Emptor... Buyer Beware!

Thats true, thats why i think there should be more mods.
I know that Noobcrew will have to put his trust in the mods because mods have the power to damage the server.
But if there are (like right now) no mods on, the scammers will damage the server in the same way.

A Mod's duty is not to police bad judgments of players.

Bringing diamonds to a trade is no different than carrying diamonds at 3 am in a high crime area.
Be careful, trade with those you know & trust, and remember that you are not insured ;).

That said, scammers do indeed get banned, and are being removed from the server.
Make your reports in Trade Scam forums.
They are looked at and used!
Do not ask Mods to replace things you lose; that is your own free choice.
    Caveat Emptor!

This trade chamber thing is something that can and should be looked at. It will need some kind of redstone mechanism but I don't have time to research this atm.

I remember the times when we had a trading plugin. The only annoying bug I noticed was that your inventory stopped updating(you couldn't move anything in it) even after rejecting the trade.
It would be useful these days, with all the scammers and what not.
