    Hey Guys, 23porsche09 here! I think that Skyblock Survival really should have more than 300 as Max. Every time I look forward to log in on the Server it is full and have to wait a while before I come in, like probably many others do since it's so popular server. I hope you do something with this.

    Regards 23porsche09/Sebastian

    even if you make the max to 400 it will still be full and you always need to be faster than the other people :p

    I see that Noobcrew has raised the max player to 320, at least right now.
    He would make it 1000 if it were stable.
    He does a lot of work to ensure the best features + max players + stability are all maximized.
    Its always a lot of trial and error after a major update, and this one is as major as it gets, since the new Plugins are added.

    The reason Crew doesn't add more player slots is - yep, you guessed it - lag.
    Let's say he raises the player cap to 400.
    Well, in Minecraft, a player loads 32 chunks around him - 80 MB of RAM;
    Taking that into account, 80 * 300 = The amount of memory (approximately) we already use for players alone.
    That's 24,000 MB. (or between 23/24 GB). Luckily, every player isn't 32 chunks away. If I were to take a wild guess, I'd say players alone take up 2-3 GB of server RAM alone. Taking that into account, adding 100 more won't help;
    that plus the fact that the server already uses memory for plugins, schedulers, and routine Bukkit tasks.

    TL;DR More player slots would cause too much lag.

    Mem is not the actual problem, though it is on most MC servers trying to get more players without lag.
    Its mainly CPU and Mod/Plugins.

    As a note on mem, Skyblock has a lower than normal player mem allocation, since many chunks have not only air in the upper half of the chunk, but air down to Y=0. "Empty" parts of chunks '"save" ram, the way Mojang allocates it. I have not ever seen Skyblock.net even above 50% RAM, even with over 300 users. At any given moment with 300+ players, 50+ are in chunks that are already allocated, and chunks regions are only loaded once. That means that if everyone were in say, the spawn area, you could have 2000+ players running in less than 1GB. They would lag, though, due to CPU, data path, & plugin issues.
