Aye Y'all, so Basically There should be a /warp PetRace or /warp Race. When you would type in either of these commands, you would warp to an area in which you can race people, 2+ people allowed. Not that complicated, so it's like a fun little mini-game (like /ma j) You Can earn prizes For 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Depending on the number of people. If there are 2 people, only 1st place gets a prize, and it's a small prize because then there would be farming. If there are, Let's say, 20 people, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gets a prize and it's a normal prize. You can't really farm with 20 people. What I mean by the 2 /warps are:

If there is /warp PetRace, everyone racing gets a temporary pet, just to race it. They can't use the /pet command if they are a greenie and don't have any pets.

Or /Warp Race, where there is still the race map, but you race on-foot.

This is an amazing idea!!! It's not a very big work minigame, and it will keep the skyblock server still related to skyblock, just like ma j.

*Note: if you Disagree, say something in the comments. Whether you hate the idea or some constructive feedback because this would be fun! (because /warp skincomp was removed... as well as /warp airplane... /warp cake.... /warp oreo... I can go on forever...)

EDIT: 12/2/17: As players move the same on a pet, maybe implement a few power-ups on the maps? something along the lines of that. Also, maybe a few shortcuts, Like think of Mario Kart, some maps have shortcuts that are kind of hard to get to, and if you don't get in it you don't want to waste 15 seconds trying to get it. Maybe the shortcut could be a little staircase coming up and you have to jump at the right time to get on the platform(?)

Some of my fondest Skyblock memories are of me riding a chicken pet in /warp chill when I was a donor10.

If something like this could be implemented without causing additional server lag, I support.

It’s great to think of ideas to bring the community together.

 

Well, if someone could code this, support. I'm not sure how difficult coding it would be, though.
As Vikki said, as long as there's no lag, I think this would be fun and harmless.

Support. Let me say reasons stated above only because Bert said it first so I’m assuming there reasons are valid even though I didn’t read them just to quickly gain post count.

 

Speedhacks wont work when you are on a /pet, and as for the super close race, see my edit in the post

I would like to add that maybe to slow people down you would have to go through water and/or they would have to jump off a cliff to a slime block than jump to the next platform using the slime block. Also I have a question, would they be disqualified if they got off there pet? <---That should a thing.

 

I don’t believe they should be disqualified, people can accidentally get off their pet, so maybe they can’t get off their pet. In a server mini game (not gonna say) when you go on a roller coaster you can’t get off and shifting does nothing. You would have to type a command to leave. Like ma j, you need an empty inventory, and when you start to race, you have nothing in your hot bar apart from a book that says “leave race” in the 9th slot. Something like that.

 

Good point also should there be a way where competitors get disqualified? Like /ma j they get disqualified when they die. Also do you think my ideas of slowing people down are good and should be added if this mini game is added?

 

That sounds like a good idea, maybe at the sides of the racetrack and maybe little piles of water on the track...
