Personally, the idea of a new server gave me a huge initial hype then it dropped down the months. I heard people in game talking about the server is coming by the next week and some saying its long scraped. We, the players are given no updates, no ETA. Cyp isnt replying any mails about the new server but replied my donor400 mail in 5 minutes. (I had to try it out, just title your mail donor400 and he will jump to reply.) The skyblock twitter updates have stopped for almost 8 months. Does cyp not care? I do not accept the excuse of him running so many servers at once, if he cant run them, drop a few. If the new server was opened a few months ago, i would believe the loyal player base would return for a few months with the hype but now, even if the new server is opened right now, i doubt it will return skyblock to half of its original glory.
Have you noticed Noobcrew Rating his announcement post Cookie? Made me giggle. Personally I don't think the date the server is released matters much regarding its success, although like you I'd like it up ASAP. But I totally side with you regarding the lack of communication lately. Cyp doesn't even twitter congrats to new mods anymore. Not to speak about . On the other Hand, if he wants his Server return to its original glory as you put it, he'd better do it real good and take as much time as it Needs to do so. Because you don't get a second Chance to make a good first Impression, and if it is released bugged and flawed, People will drop it immediately after trying it once and never come back. This is IMHO the higher risk.
Apparently Noobcrew came on and told people the aim is to have it done by December. I want to see this server return to being popular and thrive. But there are so many things that are going on that makes this server not as appealing as other servers. Firstly a one game-mode server in 2017 is hard to make popular these days when servers that offer a bit of everything are more enticing. This already places net at a huge disadvantage. Then add in the fact that skyblock is not as unique and interesting as it once was. Anyone can open a skyblock server that can compete with Net. All the plugins you can find on our server can pretty much be found in the public and work just as well. How to keep skyblock on top? Utilize the talents of the developers to make special plugins. Adding challenges, hardcore mode, island leveling etc are all things these other plugins did years ago. Its not just lag that was an issue. Think about how many people left because of: - Not getting the correct help - Small bugs taking months to get solved - Being treated unfairly - Bullying and harassment - Donation issues not being resolved - Lack of community engagement from owners - Lack of updates - No new features These are all issues that have yet to be resolved and if the new server is released before these things get resolved then success may not be on the table. Not to cause offense but it was hard for me as a staff to stay motivated to moderate when I didn't have the right tools to do my job and when the owners seemed like they were over minecraft all together. I am not the only one who feels that minecraft in general is boring as hell. No one would blame the owners for moving on to different things. But the community can sense it too. Players can sense it. I don't know how well the new server will go once the hype settles. The same people are running the server, the same staff, the same community hence the same attitudes, systems, beliefs and toxicity will be present. I just know that I want to see all the hard work pay off. I hope things change to make it pay off.
I agree with suggestions and such and I did hear about noobcrew saying it's by December. However, I heard many said that cyp said that it will be done by November. Another even said on a earlier date that the idea be scraped. Imo, no matter how much hard work put into the new server, if people get no updates, people like me will jump and commit into another server soon
Lets at least care for how the server will be. Like uhh lets not really care much about the release date even though it is keep being "delayed" like I've heard it will be released on August then October and now December. All we care now is that it will be released this year hopefully and how it will work.
Tbh the point im driving across here is that even if the server is all good and here are many things to explore, at this rate of it being delayed, its pointless. Im sure we all know of a few nicely custom modded servers that are fun, entertaining but has a low player base. Skyblock dont have to start from stratch since it has a huge player base, tho people like me are inactive but will pop by the new server and play it. Or if it has to be delayed for quality issues, give us a weekly/monthly update. Connect with the players. If not, players like me will think this is all a scheme and that there is no intention of bringing skyblock to its original glory since i see the twitter account dead, i see player gaming on the server dead, i see top of the month voters winning with 25 votes. I will..... stop checking in on skyblock.

Here for anyone that doesn't believe anyone The new server was supposed to be released July 1st, then it was scheduled to release August 1st. Since then, there hasn't been a current date set for the new server, although Noobcrew stated in the screenshot they're trying to release the new one sometime in December.
Can we also please appreciate Leeeroieee ? He’s also been working very hard on the server and we know that because sometimes he takes breaks from moderating and starts developing new and wacky things for our server, yet no one notices! Thanks Lee! The twitter feed has not been updated because Exstatisfy used to run it and then stopped. I’m sure it will start soon.
Umm I'm pretty sure Lee is the best staff memeber and we all notice how much stuff he does for the server.
Aww Honestly, though, it's really JustMatt who's doing all the heavy lifting. He doesn't like being in the spotlight, but he deserves all the love for all his hard work. I'm shifting my focus entirely to development and testing until the new server is ready for release, so you'll probably not see much of me in-game until then.
