I 100% support this. As you said it would be a great way for someone to prove them self and get better with time and learn from there mistakes.

 

yess support, trial mod gave the new mods a time to get settled and still learn from the mentor, where as now it just throws them straight into the deep end.

How do you apply for trial mod?

 

It's just applying for mod, and the first rank you get is trial moderator. If you look at some of the old accepted apps, some of them say (name's) Trial Moderator Application.

I can see why the idea seems advantageous but I think it is overrated. In general, I'd say new moderators adjust to their new roles within two weeks at most. As someone who has gone from absolutely no permissions at all --> full on moderator on another of crew's servers, having a trial mod phase would've been counter-productive. I think that asking all new moderators to abstain from using any of their commands on players for the first three days after their promotion is enough.

Finally, you've mentioned safety as a reason but you can never really guarantee safety, if someone really wanted to get promoted just so that they could abuse their powers in a conspicuous manner as soon as they have the permissions to do so, then they will wait it out.

 

I am actually surprised I haven't supported this earlier, I think it will work as long as the staff managers don't make the same mistake as the owners and keep them as t-mods, and they either promote them or demote them within the month.

 

Support! This is really useful for new mods to get some new experience and learn new things and personally would teach student mods how a server works

I don't understand why Cyp removed but this has to come back. It might take along to time get his attention or nearly impossible but I still have to throw full support on this one.

Full support. We need trial mods so they can learn more about being a mod. I suggest Laini Lycel 52Phenomenon Wolfie and Gumo get trial mod
