Hopefully we'll get a bit more interest following the release of the new server. Skyblock isn't resting quite yet ;>
First: the average players is about 35-40. Second: Why waste a thread with this repetitive, derivative statement?
In my timezone in the morning to the afternoon theres like 10 - 30 Players max. (rarely reach belows 10 players). And from dusk to after midnight about 40 - 70ish players
Skyblock hasn't reached over 80 players all week and last week but still is in the top 100 servers. Heres hoping the new server doesn't suffer from new server hype before returning to the same state it is now like org did.
A new server hype is better than no hype at all. Personally, I was excited with the 'new server' idea but... It's been 4 months-ish +? With almost no updates from cyp, kinda sucks tbh... Losing interest. It's like people who impulsive buy products, a long wait isn't helping the server. From what I know cyp is a full time server owner.... Considering he got so many servers. There should be some news or what so ever :/
The new server is suppose to be a modern skyblock server, which I feel is not a correct turn to the future of skyblock. The only reason skyblock has still been alive is because of it's originality and it was the start of skyblock. Mainly the server is based on a custom island spawn, a time of warps and staff, a good chunk of players, and a great community. However with the lack of updates, staff, and the the great lag depression (August 2016 - August 2017) the skyblock server has since died down. The summer of 2016 had an average of 200 players at all times, the year before that had more, and so on. Since last summer, the player has dropped to a average of 20-50 (averagely in the 30's). I do not believe the server is able to repair from what has happened to it, although I am not giving up my hope. A modern skyblock server is not what I would enjoy personally, but I know some people would. Mainly un-popular skyblock servers have the skyblock plugin which every skyblock server uses except this one, that's why it was very large numbers, originality. Taking away the originality to create a server is fine, but that would lead for NET to die like ORG did when NET started to die Early Past NET - 500/500 players at most times ORG - 200+ players NEW SERVER - too early for this one Past NET - 220 player average ORG - 20 player average NEW SERVER - NOT ANNOUNCED Present Day NET - 30 player average ORG - 0 player average NEW SERVER - ANNOUNCED (The new server has been worked on for nearly 5 months) Future (predictions) NET - 7 players ORG - 0 players NEW SERVER - 136 players (first week it releases) Over the time the new server will definitely increase it's player count, although the original skyblock server will lose it's position like org did towards net. I do feel like advertising is an okay approach, but would not help. The new server would help profit/popularity, but I do believe some players would not enjoy a skyblock server. I am fine towards playing the new server, I just wouldn't enjoy it as much as I did with net for that past few years.
It's not really dead yet. Yes, the player amount has been dropping but it isn't at zero yet. We have a good amount of dedicated players that will probably stay. When they leave, who knows what'll happen.
Well for curiosity sake I went to look at the snapshots of the vote site to see the numbers at different points in history. This is what the server stats were. Rank 7 Now, The server did a little better this week with the max amount of players. Yes, there are graphs like this on the vote website and wayback machine. If you want to see for yourself the change in rank and numbers (graphs all remain the same for some reason) for yourself, its all there for you.
the only reason we lost players is because Stel and I got muted so everyone decided it wasn't worth sticking around without us
Cause He Is Obsessed With Planes Duh... And on topic please don't post more depressing things about how skyblock is dying. Hopefully with the release of the new server, and a little bit of advertising, and some generous donors. Skyblock will live, whenever you vote, you are keeping the server alive, whenever someone buys a donor rank, you are paying hosting fees. So as long as there is still a small player base, it will, touch wood be fine. Becuase as long as there is a player base, new players will join. I have recently met a lot of new players in the last couple of weeks. Also as shown in the graphs the player count is staying steady, and that is all we can hope for. Unless if you want skyblock to die, If so, take your hating else were your not welcome here
would be sad if this server died out, since apparently Noobcrew created skyblock and this is the official skyblock server, this server is essentially quite a handful of Minecrafts actual history
