As you can tell by the server, I - and a lot of other Skyblock.net players - believe that the server needs a revamp in a lot of ways. Personally, this is more evident by the lack of players recently - I mean, only roughly 80 - 90 individual players got on (as if 9/23/2017) that I am aware of. In light of these current situations, I have made several polls regarding some issues on the server. Feel free to vote however you would like. "Would you like to see a revamped kit system?" "Would you like to see a revamped voting system?" "Would you like to see a revamped mob system?" "Would you like to see a revamped shop?" These are a few suggestions from the skyblock server that I would like to see inquired upon. Feel free to leave any opinions about the topic as you wish. Edit: Forgot to give my opinions. Personally, I say yes to all of these and here is why: KITSFirst: The kit systems for this server are arbitrarily useless. Donor 10 gives you 4 stacks of cobblestone, a stack of redstone and an iron ingot every two days. EVERY TWO DAYS. The kits above that do not reward much but instead give you spawners and diamonds - which yes are useful, but do not accommodate the purchases of a $400 Rank. On top of this, the wait times are very, very broken. Two days for cobble? Wow, such an offer. Two: The commands you get are so far-fetched and barely useful that it really boggles me why you would buy a rank for the commands or kits - if you are. VOTINGVoting sucks. Man do I just love the voting system. Not really though, it's flawed in a lot of ways. First off, I like the idea of voting, I just don't like the way it is presented. One: They're a hassle. You have to earn or buy a chance to by a chance uncrate an ungreat item. I'm not kidding you, in my almost three years of playing Skyblock I have never gotten a rare key or gotten anything remotely good from voting. I get that voting has always been a topic of discussion and yeah it's a chance thing, but it's really been ramped up by like 10,000 in the past while. Two: Item distribution is ALWAYS uneven. Wow, look at all of those grass related items Wow, look at all of those diamond related items Wow, look at that luck! Three: The server applies different items to different cases (which are broken up just because) to every item which leads to: Artificial/Arbitrary Rarity (and therefore price inflation Highest Tiered Case being an excuse to add a gaudy item (such as the sponge) (no one will buy keys otherwise) Items that people actually want are ignored Crates are rarely changed Several items are banned from being bought in-game (or so I'm told) Revenue is so diluted through keys that most successful item receivers won't be deriving much profit (if any) after they get the item I'm sure you understood little to nothing I just said, but trust me it's important later. I'm sorry if you find my language a litt- **CRATES** have always been gaudy. But every crate gets even gaudier than the last. Voting crates had some diamonds. Then some stone. Then some grass. But now we've got low-chances to get mob spawners, one emerald for a rare key, a 40% chance to get nothing, a lava trail.. what? The other stuff is as important as a sponge. I'm almost certain the sponge was added on accident. To be honest, the crates have always been bad but they're definitely worse now that I think about it. I know this rant makes me seem like some kid salty he's not getting good items, but I don't care that much about them pushing the crates and items. Like, the stone is pretty minimalistic, and some random items sprayed in every now and again isn't gonna hurt anyone. But there's a limit to contextually comical and just stupid. The ShopI hate the skyblock shop so much. Although it isn't the biggest problem that Skyblock has right now and yeah, it's not as important as some other problems, it's still discussed - whether it's in game or on forums. People usually talk about the store for one prime reason: The shop's VERY concerning prices for items. Let's take the saplings as in example. One sapling is 4 GRASS in the store. ONE FOR FOUR GRASS. That's absurd - you can get saplings for free or if you really need to, buy a stack or two for one grass. But it doesn't stop there. Look at ANY of the brewing items - usually one or two for one or two grass. Yeah. So what's the use for the store. DRUMROLL. It literally doesn't have a use now. It's outdated - the prices are way too high and no one seems to care about it. With trade shops and the amount of items people are now willing to give away, VERY few items are worth buying from there - if any at all. But with every problem there must be a solution. The best solution I hear is to just lower the prices, or add another form of currency (like gold nuggets).
To be honest, I don't really think the problem currently with the server are those specific ideas, or any specific ideas to be honest, it's that there are no interactions between the owners and the players. Heck, Crew hasn't posted on forums in months and they both aren't ever in game. I know that a reset is coming which is going to help but really I doubt it'll be enough. This place needs new owners or somehow a miracle of Crew coming back. Anyway nice suggestions anyways. I'll be voting myself. Edit: Also instead of yes or no answers, maybe broaden them a bit? I'm not sure, seems difficult to answer these with a yes or a no.
Kits: I think they're actually pretty good. If they make the kits better then honestly like skyblock is gonna be worse. Already now skyblock is way too easy because whenever a new player comes on everyone just gives them stuff. And the kits are pretty worth it according to how much you pay. For example the donor400 kit. You may think it's not much but it's actually great. The creative item first of all is basically why you're paying $400. I've had access to the kits before and they are a lot better than they seem. Voting system: They can't help the system. Like the vote isn't their on website it's a website to see the most popular Minecraft servers. While I agree the luck is bad, they can't make it too good either. Like think about it. You can earn 1 key a day. Imagine how rich everyone would be if the prizes were good. Also I think it's just your luck like personally I get good stuff all the time (I find it amusing to get bad things). Also with rare crates they have less grass choices but they also have less chances for the bad useless prizes. Mob system: Hmm well to be honest warp mob is pretty bad. There's not enough spawners and stuff. I think mob arena's cool. The only problem is the glitches that make people invincible. But then again this stuff is getting fixed on the new server so whatever right? Shop: Yeah everyone would agree with this. /warp trade is horrible. However, this gives players the opportunity to make their own shops and earn grass from it. I find this pretty fantastic. /warp skyshop for example is fantastic and used by most of the remaining skyblock players. Also they're also fixing this on the new server so once again, whatever right?
On the topic with the voting system, I never said that voting itself was bad - I said the luck and items in the crates are bad. Why are there two sponges in the rarest crate? Why do you have a 40% chance of wasting your key in the rarest crate? Why is there a mob spawner in it? As I said, there is a quick line between contextually comical and just unneeded and stupid.
hm I believe the spawner is a guardian spawner which is worth quite alot of diamonds. But yeah that makes sense.
Not answering your poll-- I have a suggestion of my own. D25+ can have TWO echest pages! And one could purchase more with IRL money.
Oh whoops ;p then D50+ has two echest pages (/echest 1, /echest 2) and more could be, say, $10 USD per.
Since this is like, a bunch of suggestions all in one I'll just voice an opinion on 'em all separately . Kits~ Personally, I don't see an issue with the kits system. You mainly mentioned the Donor10 kit, but honestly most people buy donor10 for only two reasons: the [Donor] prefix, and commands like /tpa. You said the commands that come with donor10 are useless but I disagree, things like /tpa, /jump, etc are quite useful. All the other donor ranks I have no problem with really. Voting~ Quite a few times I have gotten rare crates, extra keys, jukeboxes etc from voting, it really is just a chance thing. I don't see anything that needs fixing with the /rewards aspect of voting. Vote crates aren't mean to be amazing, since you can open two of them a day, but sure I admit they could add a few extra items in there, yeah. Rare crates, were okay until the loss of the beacon, that's the only thing really with them. I'd like to add that back, and then the rare crate would be ok I think. And legendary crates, well, they're kinda just there. Hardly anyone buys them, there should definitely be a lower chance of getting that plant pot though, for sure. I also think they should be added to the BuyCraft store. The Shop~ I suspect this will be fixed when the new server arrives, but yeah the prices could be updated but this encourages player to player trading which, in my view, is a positive thing.
