I know nobody wants it to happen, but skyblock is officially dyeing. How long will it be till .org goes offline?
It is obvious .ORG has a very low player count now (most of the time, 0) but I'm not sure whether it will go offline.
Last time I saw org with over 50 players was never. This server has been dead for over a year now but no one noticed.
I used to love org. I don't want the day to come when it shuts down. I try to go on but it just isn't that fun. There isn't even a warp animal to get food at. People wish for it to become active but in order to do that, you have to put time into the server as well. It isn't going to progress much if you don't go on it yourself.
I'm gonna speak for the majority of the community that all quit at the same time here (again). We quit for a couple reasons. Oh yeah baby, you know what time it is.. LIST TIME OORAH: The lag was _unbearable_. We didn't want to put time and effort into a server that has you relying mainly on automated redstone machines (pumpkin farms, cactus farms, etc. etc.) when those machines stalled over and over due to the lag. It just got tiring, and we played org for fun, not to learn how to become an effective repairman. The staff team. Honestly, we had like two or three mods that were good at their job, and the rest were flat out inactive. Org had a rather nice community, and we didn't deal with _too_ much toxicity (overused word that everyone hates now yeah whatever shoo), but still, it was annoying. Cyp himself caused quite a bit of us to quit, honestly I pin that on myself, as I openly disliked Cyp quite a bit for a long time, and I said a lot of bad s*** about him. Now I honestly just don't care, I don't have enough free time to repeatedly bash an admin on a block game anymore, but still. Point is, most of the rumors (true or untrue) spread about him generally influenced a lot of us to not hang around a server basically run by a horrible guy (That's how we saw him, and that's how a lot of us still do see him. I'm personally on the fence, I'll wait to see how this new server turns out). Economic inbalance. Not a word, but I don't care. Point is, the economy got horribly off balance. You old folk will remember the good days when an iron ingot was $200. By the time the server ended, it was around $350. Need a better example? Back in 2014 or so (early 2014) if I recall correctly, spawners were around $10k. Now? Spawners (if even sold anymore) go for up to $105k. It's insane, and with prices so high, almost every new person we got on the server had no chance of actually becoming successful because the prices were absurd for a new player. You can't build up even a small pumpkin farm for minimal profits when it'd take you _ages_ to grind the material, and no new player wants to immediately go sit at a spawner and grind on creepers for hours for profit. It's boring as hell. Now, if you read all that (or if you didn't, just read the last one to understand this next part), then you'll get why the server has no people. With no new players coming in at all, and all the other ones quitting for the other reasons, that leaves no players at all. Thusly, _that_ was why org died. *bow*
Well said. I do believe ORG should be shut down - it kind of makes the server look bad with nobody playing on it. While a lot of people previously had good fun on it - no one really seems to care about it now. Someone just randomly gave me all their rares on there a few weeks ago. I doubt there's many players left that actually care about their island/items/money there.
I can vouch for not caring. Personally, I offered all of my stuff to the first person to message me awhile back (118 spawners, about 2000 grass, lots of iron, fun stuff). To prove no one cared about org, I didn't get a single message ;p and no, that's not still up for offer. You people missed out on your chance at 11.8m hmph
