Diamonds: What are they used for and how are they obtained?


Once again this guide was made in mind for the newer players in our .NET community. However this time, instead of grass, this guide covers the topic of diamonds: How to get them and various uses etc.

How can I get diamonds?

• Player Upgrades – Many players who cannot donate will resort to trading in-game items for an upgrade. The most common currency used are diamonds. As the current conversion rate for diamonds to USD is 10 diamonds to $1, this is a cheaper method than purchasing them through the buycraft store, and it benefits both the server and another player at the same time.

• Donating or Donor kits – When you donating you will get perks back in return. One of these perks is a kit, correlating in worth with the amount you donated. Not all donor kits contain diamonds, but here are those that do:

Donor 100: Kit contains 1 diamond, which can be claimed daily.

Donor 250: Kit contains 3 diamonds and is claimable daily. When you upgrade your rank/ purchase it afresh from the store, you will get 32 diamonds (not included in the kit).

Donor 400: Rank has access to all previous rank’s kits.

There are also two other separate purchases that can be made for diamonds. However, these are only one time purchases:

8 diamonds: available for 15 USD.

32 diamonds: available for 45 USD.

• Tradeshops and inter-player trades – There are different ways to trade, by drop trading, or by creating a tradeshop.

Items that are worth more sell for diamonds, this is because instead of trading multiple stacks of grass, the player will trade in a currency with a greater value as it is rarer in the economy and worth more per piece than a block of grass is.

1 diamond is worth about 21/22 grass per gem, they are usually sold in tradeshops at 3 diamonds for 64 grass.

What can diamonds be used for?

Diamonds are mainly used for trading, albeit more commonly for rarer items instead of villager trades. However, at /warp donor there are a few trades requesting diamonds in return for items.

Diamonds aren’t just restricted for trade purposes; you can make tools with them and even create blocks to add to your island with.
