This server has changed and I'm sad to say, its for the worst. Because I'm a "greenie" and I haven't donated to the server, I get treated like absolute garbage. The mods ignore me 90% of the time (yes, I wait a few minutes until I send my message again) and all the donors completely ignore me because we don't have a color-coded name. If I even try to speak in chat, I feel like I send shivers down the donors' spines. I can't ever get a message out that will get a response in return. Now, this isn't EVERY donor on .NET, only about 75% of them. They spend too much time on this server and I'm glad that some of the donors have spoken to me and said, "This server is going down hill" or "This server used to be fun, now it's lame" or even "This server is so biased, some of the players are so far up the mods' a**-" this is where I stop [none of the donors shall be named]. Anyway, the point is, the staff and players aren't even remotely close to what they used to be when I first joined this server and the management doesn't even do anything to help solve it.
I'm proud to be a greenie until this server turns around.

There are lot of stupid people on this server, sad you've run into them.
Just have faith, I know a lot of good people amd a handful of great mods.

If the greenies are being treated better now, then I can only imagine what they went through between when I left and returned to this server. *shudder*

 

I can see exactly what you mean by the 'stupid people' on .NET and its a shame that you know only a 'handful of great mods.' Hence what I said in my original post.

 

I can agree with you on some of this. Non-donors don't bother me at all, they're still the biggest group of people that makes up the playerbase.

Some moderators can definitely be biased, but they might be busy or afk too. As a long-time player of skyblock, I can say that the server is definitely going downhill, but its not totally doomed right now.

 

I'm a greenie but the mods answer me and players talk to me most of the time. You must just come on at the wrong times.

 

The treatment of greenies has definitely improved. With a lower player count, where previously one might block out all of the green spam to read the conversation because it was that dang fast, nowadays one can easily read every single message in chat, whether from a greenie or from a donor. My personal treatment of greenies has remained the same as always: ignore them and pay attention to them just as often as I would a donor. If you say something stupid or rude, or if I'm busy, I won't reply. Doesn't matter what colour your name is, in fact I hardly pay attention when it's in msg anyway, as your name appears red, not green, and I don't really associate that with non-donors (msg used to be cyan or green before that... wait, why does it keep changing?).
So, you must either be very annoying, causing people to ignore you, or it was just coincidence. Sometimes, even as a Skygod, I log on and feel like no one cares what I have to say (probably because I say some pretty dumb s***).

 

Here's what: I'm a newer Skygod. The reason for all this trolling and abuse Is because of the recent sales: anyone can buy a rank, pretty much. And you have a chance of an unethical person abusing their rank.

 

Honestly, I try to just help out the greenies. A lot of them are newer players, so I just try to help them in any way possible since I really don't have anything else better to do. I have been on here a while, so I do kind of have that mindset about greenies, but I try to ignore that as much as possible. Just because someone hasn't donated doesn't mean that they are any less of a person.

The treatment of non-donors is better now. I personally like non-donors, because they are so nice and friendly, and don't act like the kings of the world. It's not okay for a person to ignore someone just because theydon't have a coloured name. In fact, non-donors are like 60% of our community, so they are basically keeping the player count up.

 

I'm a greenie and I survived for 3+ years on this server. I've never been greifed, and I met good donors along the way. In fact, I based my building style on donors who offered to help me a long time ago (The first house I made was made by a donor also ). I've also seen mods come and go also. Many of them have gone now, and I don't remember most of there names. I've always trusted the staff.

I always respond to defaults. Not because it's my job, but it's because if they don't have a rank, so what?

When I was a greenie, I was actually treated very well. I met some very trustworthy and friendly donors (including the one that upgraded me ) along the way, and found no one to be rude or disrespectful towards me. However, I do know the feeling of being ignored and overshadowed by donors, but for the most part, I was usually noticed by someone.

I am a donor now, but overall, I am treated no different than how I was when I was a greenie. Sometimes, people don't pay attention to donors, not just greenies. I agree with you, though. Just because greenies don't have fancy colors and effects doesn't mean they should be belittled by the higher ranks.
