I have decided to make this to help new members on our forums. This guide will explain and teach you how to do certain things on forums or on your account. Happy reading! The beginning Once you have signed up, you will have to wait for moderator appoval on your account. The approval is here to prevent bots and such. Once your account has been approved, you can start posting messages, editing your account and making new friends! Down below, you will find tutorials about editing, forum rules and all sort of things forum related. Starting off with your account By making an account on forums, you will be updated about events and such happening on in-game or on forums. A forum account for sure will expand your friendships, and will make your skyblock life more enjoyable! So once a Staff team member approves your account, the first thing you will want to do is edit your account; you will find out how to do so below! Editing your account In the screnshot under this, you will notice a purple arrow pointing at my username. By clicking that button (it will show your name on your screen), a little menu will open with different sections. Each section is unique and they are very easy to use. I am going to explain the "Personal Details" part, because it is the main one. Other sections are basically extras. When you click Personal Details, you will be able to edit your location, age, avatar, biography, etc. As well as, you will be able to change your username. Getting used to forums Once you are done with putting your account together, it's time to learn how forums work. The forums are divided in different sections, as you will see in the picture down below. Each and every section has a main topic, for example, the Moderator application section is for moderator applications only, you will learn about moderator applications down below. The sections that raise your post count are Help, Guides and "How To", Ban Appeals, Mod applications, Player/Bug reports, Donation issues, suggestions, discussion, introductions and rules/news; while Off topic doesn't increase your post count. Down below there will be rules you have to follow in order to not get banned. These are the second type of sections which take you to different places. The "Forums" takes you to the list I showed you above, the "Staff team" shows you the Staff members, and so on. I would suggest reading the Rules section before you start browsing forums. Forum Rules Here you will find out what are the rules on our forums. You are probably wondering what do all these new rules mean, well I will put two links that will take you to two different threads explaining the two important rules. 1. Rate Abuse Defined + 25 posts to use post ratings | Skyblock Forums 2.Post Farming Defined | Skyblock Forums Threads and posts Threads made by players can be found in every section of forums. They are used to discuss and share opinions, as well as asking for help or applying for Moderator. Here are some examples of threads the "Suggestions" section: Trophy points They are kind of a sign of how much you are active on forums. The more trophy points you have, the better title you will have (like mine says Active member). Trophy points are earned by completing various "challenges". The titles are New member, Member, Active member, Well-known member, Experienced member and Senior member. Reporting rule breakers Here I will show you some links that will be useful for reporting players for breaking a rule. 1. In-game rules and reports/appeal: Server Rules | Skyblock Forums 2. How to make a perfect report: Guide: Making a Perfect Report | Skyblock Forums (make sure to collect evidence when reporting ) Applying for Moderator Here, I will explain everything that will help you with applying for Staff. Let's start by looking at the requirements to apply and at the categories of applications: 1. Categories of application related threads: Moderator Applications | Skyblock Forums 2. The requirements to apply for moderator: Moderator Application Requirements | Skyblock Forums The template for your application: Your in-game name: What time zone are you in? What country do you live in? What languages do you speak? Do you have 2FA enabled? Yes/No Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence? (i.e. recording software, screenshots, etc) Why do you think you should become a mod? How long can you be active on the server everyday? How long have you been playing Skyblock? Have you ever been banned in the past? (Forums & In-game) Do you have any past experience as a moderator? Do you meet the requirements for staff? Yes/No Suggestions for a good application In a moderator application, the most important thing is to be honest, lying won't get you promoted. My suggestion for you, if you would like to apply, are to get at least 150 messages before applying, be active on both in-game and forums, help players and be mature. The only rule in applications is not to copy from other applications or even worse, from accepted applications. Making an application does not guarantee that you will be a moderator since we have limited spaces, though it raises your chance of becoming one. I wish you luck if you ever want to apply. Poking and following players You are also able to poke players and even follow them. You can access someone's profile by clicking their avatar. In the picture below, you will see how to poke and follow a certain person. By following someone, you can see when they are online without clicking on their profile . Poke is just used to have fun with players, you can also disable it in settings. Final word Thank you so much for taking your time to read my guide to forums, I hope it will help you if you are a new user! ~Wolfie
Nice guide ^-^ Personally, I prefer guides on specific subjects - ones as general as these never seem quite complete, nor are something a player would use to find the answer to a specific question. Maybe a guide on how to set up your profile specifically along with gaining ranks wtc would make a more specific guide? Idk. Anyway, very nice. Pretty formatting :3
