I do not mean to call anyone in particular out, so please do not punish me for this thread or do anything to go against this.
Once a player had the name ItsLilyBxtch And a favourite mod, was on. Well I said to the mod, that name is inappropriate, the mod said that name is fine. After some days, someone reported the user and ItsLilyBxtch got banned. That sounded a bit off-topic. I will keep it on topic. Hope soon they will find a resolve about this
Mods are pretty much exempt from the rules. I saw it enough when I was a staff member and I’m seeing it now. Under no circumstance is having a name similar to that respectable or acceptable. It’s like using another word for p***s and trying to pass it off as something else. This is also rather immature, which is seriously laughable because all of the mods claimed they are mature and would be in-game. No matter what excuse they use, it’ll be glass because you cannot sidestep this immaturity and questionable decision making. It also is named after the body is moot as that means we can use the name ‘p***s’ as it’s named after the body. As for the filter, it requires a massive amount of work. Gay should not be filtered as it’s pretty depressing to see it as such. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that word banned or filtered anywhere. The crux of this issue a lack of administration that is never being rectified. Why people even bother to apply for staff when there’s this lingering hint of permanent distrust by the administration team is curious. Skyblock now has no administrators and two owners, one of which is strictly behind the scenes and the other is on a hiatus for reasons unknown. Sadly, this cannot be fixed until the owners change. I don’t mean people wise, I mean personality and management wise. There’s no point in having an administrator if they’re just a glorified green rank that has very little permissions to anything. There’s no point having a staff manager if neither of them can manage their staff team. So many issues could have been fixed in days if the owners trusted people. Not everyone is bad and wants to see the world burn.
I'm assuming the undisclosed moderators nickname had Hemroid included in it which is considered a medical term and associated with a censored word and I believe it shouldn't be used as a nickname for obvious reasons. But let's be honest the chance of a young player searching up someones nickname is a slim chance if not none at all but still that's no reason to have that included into your nickname if you're a mod you should be more cautious on what you do since it reflects the entire staff team. If one can get away with that who says another can't? Regardless, whatever moderator had that nickname should've changed it since technically they're by passing the filter.
I'll be honest.. I knew what term you were talking about from the description... I might have been watching some Bio Inc. Redemption earlier About it being punishable.. idk. Not from the stand point of "it's a medical term" but more from the stand point of "it's not really a BAD word". Sure the word it refers to is gross... but it's not really a bad word like the various swear words
My cousin is 13, and he found an unknown word, he searched it i the internet, and almost fainted from the results
To know a staff member kicked someone for bypassing the filter to say the word "gay" unoffensively is saddening to me. I would never kick for that. I always thought most the mods as well as the players agreed it being filtered is ridiculous in the first place. The rules do clearly state that bypassing the chat filter isn't allowed though, so I can respect if a moderator simply was trying to follow their guidelines. They don't get to pick the rules, just enforce them. Now to the main point. No, I don't think it's a big deal worth saying the staff are poorly managed over... But I agree that's an inappropriate nickname. Do I think they should be demoted for that? Obviously not. Staff should just try to remain as professional and appropriate as possible, simple as that. Moderators can still have fun and joke around in-game without getting near that thin line of what's acceptable and what's not.
i mean i don't really think it's a problem that lil kids know what it is?? but yeah it's kind of immature and inappropriate for a nickname
Completely agree with you Tyler, and also Sean. As for 'gay', I have absolutely no problem with the word. It disheartens me that they filtered the word, but I can see it gets abused quite frequently - I still find it terrible that people discriminate the gays. The disease that the staff member chose to use as a nickname is basically bypassing the filter, because I bet that some person or even young child is going to google the name and will be shocked. It's still amazing how so many people, whether 12 or 34, can be so immature.
If I told you which mod did it, would you be surprised? Like cock being another word for a rooster? preach THANK YOU Neither do I, but given I had to report the certain staff member for "accidentally" advertising in a video they posted I thought they'd be more careful. Oh dear... Well if I'm honest I've been a slow learner about sex and stuff similar to it so I'm way behind and don't know everything TBH, so I have to google what something means then I'm like "ew" then move on with my life ;-; They probably did, but two super-moderators said the nickname was fine which I believe is bull and s***. THANK YOU That was my main point, the googling but they clearly ignored it. Most people are acting their mental age, not their real age lmao
