Here's an answer you should be able to digest. Cookie is a rating with no purpose, but that makes it good for little ratings here and there. Instead of posting thanks, which is already kind of pointless itself, why not use cookie as a little rating of "yea I see ya thanks mate." It's not rocket science.

a neutral rating these days might as well be considered post farming. they state the obvious and say "I can't make a single decision in my life, even on a skyblock forum. so I figured I'd just say hi in this post." essentially it's worth.
some members specifically seem to only say neutral in suggestions...

the suggestions ratings were altered to be different than other areas for a reason. the only ratings that really could be argued as needed are the ones currently available. cookie is a useless rating and useful isn't needed here, especially given the ones provided (support/agree).

 

no support. I feel like you can either manually say thank you, or you can use the friendly rating to show that you appreciate it. I understand wanting to say thank you, and not wanting to constantly reply. I use the friendly rating for this purpose, I believe it is related to why it was added in the first place. Just my thoughts.

We can't use the friendly rating in suggestions, so this suggestion isn't pointless. However i'm respecting your disagreements with this suggestion as I can't change your thoughts.

Neutral, if you've done something worthy of thanking them it's nice to have a written response from the player.

If you want a rating, then the friendly rating exists which has much the same purpose.
