If you have been banned, you can probably relate to the issue of not being told why you are banned right away when you are banned. I've been banned twice recently, and both times, it said for violating rules. The ban message does not tell you why exactly you are banned though, and it doesn't specify what rule you violated. I feel like when you get banned that you are supposed to consider what you did wrong and learn from it. But without being told why you were banned, you end up wondering why you were banned the whole time rather than thinking about what you did wrong. I am suggesting that there be a specification for bans within the messages. Basically it would be similar to how things are specified on the server itself. When you get banned, you are left with a message telling why exactly you were banned and what you did. I would like to see the same thing be implemented on forums.

    What my proposal looks like:

    Current ban:
For the sake of my example, I will be assuming that the player wishes to accept the ban, but wants to know what they did.
    1. Mod bans player
    2. Player receives ban message saying they violated a rule
    3. Player creates a new email, to create a new account on sb forums for either appealing or asking what happened.
    4. Once the account is created, the player waits for a varied amount of time until one and only one forum mod gets on to approve the account. The time can vary from as short as a few minutes, to as long as several hours for their account to get approved. Do consider that this player only wants to know what they did wrong.
    5. Once the account has been approved, the player starts a conversation with only up to 10 mods at max to ask who banned them. For all we know, the player may not have invited the banning mod, but we don't know, because the player doesn't know who banned them.
    6. The player then waits for a reply from a mod, the time of which can vary greatly.
    7. Finally, the banning mod gets on, either by being invited, or by replying.
    8. The player is told why they were banned, and the reason for banishment has been figured out by the victim.

    My proposed ban:

    1. mod bans player
    2. player gets ban message telling them exactly why they were banned.
    3. the reason for banishment has been figured out by the victim.

Support. "Rule violation" isnt really helpful. Just because you SHOULD know, doesn't mean that you DO know.

Support, all thought it is pretty clarified already. But there is no harm in this.

at this moment, if you get banned on forums you get this message: "You have been banned. Reason: Rules Violation." They never tell you what rule you broke, so all you know is that you "broke a rule," but not what rule it was. The last time I was banned, I had to hassle my way around somehow just to find out why I got banned since nobody told me.

Read rules, don't break them, don't get banned. Easy fix

there is also another easy fix. Player reads rules, player breaks a rule without realizing it, they get banned, they don't know why, you then tell them why they got banned so that they know what and how they got banned. Once this is done, said player will know what precautions to take not to get banned in the future. Easy fix. Sorry krissy, but nobody is perfect, rules get broken from time to time. Sometimes it is by accident. ;) sorry, but it's just the truth. You want people to learn their lesson, you have to tell them what they did wrong. it's not that hard. (watch me get banned for saying this)

Thinking about what you did is basically a ban appeal. You can make an alt to appeal and then PM a staff member to see who banned you.

    TD;LR
we have ban appeals for that

and the last appeal account I made was never accepted by a mod. Look, if I deserved a ban, I deserved it. I prefer to know what I did wrong. Rather than having to make a new email account, then wait several hours only to have a mod not O.K. it.
oh my friggin gosh amy. How many times do I have to tell you, I quit the game server. I also asked you not to pester me, and provoke me on my threads like this.

Hard to believe people nearing adulthood don't know what they do wrong

Fyi, ban reasons can only be given via ACP so unless there is some add on, only people with access to the admin panel will be able to give ban reasons that are seen when you try log in.
Other than that, you just have to not do stupid things on the forums or make an appeal account.

Or how about you simply put a ban message for what the user did rather than expecting them to know everything?
Well not everyone is able to make another account, there are a few reasons.

You can always ask the banning mod if you don't wish to appeal.

How am I supposed to ask the banning mod if A. I don't know who the heck the banning mod is, and B. I am banned on everything skyblock. Honestly.

exactly. I would have to ask who the banning mod is. Once I ask that question, I have to wait. I am a person who doesn't like to waste time, I prefer to make things fast and efficient. Streamline things if you would like to call it that. If I see something that can be improved to make things faster and efficient, I do what I can to either suggest it, or make it happen. In this case, bans would become more efficient if the reason for banishment was in the ban message. It would be instantaneous, and it would make it so that our players wouldn't have to create a second email. Here is what I see:

    3. the reason for banishment has been figured out by the victim.
as you can see in my above examples, the process I am suggesting takes 5 less steps. It's clear cut and simple, and only takes a few seconds. Whereas the current method could take up to a day, if at all. I hope this clears things up Krissy

I don't see why luxuries should be provided to those who want to break rules or dont bother to read them.
    1. Get banned
    2. Make your account and appeal asking why you were banned and banning mod will be identified or asked on discord or in game
    3. or wait out your ban
    4. Then wait for mod and done.

There are literally people who will message a mod asking why they were banned and by who, get their answer and appeal. They make little fuss and usually get their ban lifted early. It isn't rocket science. It takes a bit of patience and common sense.

No support based on doing this idea requires extra add ons to do.

You have to do as krissy said. It's the only way.
