He does have access to the account. He still plays Minecraft occasionally, we found a website where you can see the last time that someone was playing on minecraft, and around a week ago he posted a video on his youtube channel. We know that there is a low chance of actually finding him, but there is still a possibility.

 

Mind giving me his youtube channel?

 

I believe that the name of his channel is "Sumwun Lakyu". It popped up almost immediately when I searched up his IGN.
