About two weeks ago I was testing something with lava. I had emptied my inventory but forgot my sponge
was still on my head as a /hat. I died in the lava and the sponge was burnt/disintegrated.

I never bothered making an application because I didn't have any proof of ever owning or losing it . (I still don't) I would have taken a screenshot as soon as I died but I had forgotten I had it on me and only realised what had happened when I could not find my sponge in any of my chests.

I cannot remember who I brought it from but I have mailed countless players asking them if they remember me buying it and if they have any videos from when they traded it.
Also you may be wondering how a greenie can afford a sponge. Bunningsnag (John) did a drop party in which I received a infected head and a bunny head. I sold these and brought a sponge (checkout my island its a bit richy in looks mainly at the spawnpoint ) (Also you can verify which him that I did get the heads as he asked who got them and gave me advice on what price to sell them for) . I now only have about 2 stacks of diamonds which is a fair bit but before I lost this sponge I had 9 stacks.

Is there anyway at all I can get this back? Sponges are worth around 500 diamonds so it is a lot to lose.

Unfortunately, I don't think there will be a way in returning your sponge, seen as you've got no proof. Are you sure you haven't any proof?

 

Protip dont put valuables as hat it makes you look stupid anyway..

Not that I can find which is weird because I am sure I recorded me trading some heads for it when I got it. However I cannot find the file. Krissy says she may be able to refund me , she just needs to get proof which she is working on (I hope?!)

lb lookup the item id of sponge
look at all sponge logs maybe
idk how many sponge logs there would be?
But if it wasn't long ago then maybe there would be logs that way

I know yyy did that with ores once or twice way back when

Staff does not refund /hat deaths. I do not think there is anything you can do to get your sponge back unfortunately. Maybe if you had proof they might refund it.

 

That's annoying. I should have a video file from when I traded diamonds for it but I cannot find it :/..... it was probably beacaused I traded it and my computer hard drive got corrupted so I had to reset my computer...

That's really annoying though because losing 500 diamonds is a lot.
And it took me a long time to get it. That sponge was my biggest achievement.
Does it need to be photo/video proof? because I know someone who has seen me with the sponge...
