for the most part be a donor (the more ridiculous amount of money you spend the more attention you get) and you have a better chance.
if you aren't a donor, write two pages of why you want to be a moderator out of no where and become moderator.
    example

    This.

And yes - You do get more attention when you donate.

    Not at all.

Your donator rank or "popularity" isn't looked at when being promoted. Many have been promoted whilst not being a skygod (me, Random, FatalDisaster, Agent, etc.).

Cypriot doesn't go and look at what donator you are, he cares if you're going to make a good moderator.

As stated before, when picking a new mod I believe the input from the community is taken into account.
Ie. popular = good community feedback
    unpopular = bad community feedback
result: lower chances if you're unpopular.

What the community has to say really has no affect, to be honest.

it can be said over and over, and just because it is not specifically outlined as being a consideration in the process doesn't mean it is not considered.

Every time I hear a mod say this it hurts my head even more.
I've seen mods come and go since 2012, I guess it's pure coincidence they're 95% popular players.

I'm saying it because it's the truth. It's false to make people think they need to be popular to become a mod, they don't. Moderators say this because we know it, we know how the promotion process works. If you have seen promotions since 2012 then you should also notice it's the good applicants who are also promoted. Good applicants happen to be people who have been around the server/community for a bit and know how it works. Hence why "popular" people are promoted.

You don't NEED to be donator but it severely increases your chances

no you don't have to be but being a donor does often help, as you want to be well-known, so more people support, and often donors/skygods are more ' popular' than greenies

Ranks don't bump your mod application by any means, and it is not a requirement. Speaking of requirements and forums in general check out the thread I made on forums (it includes the moderator requirements): Skyblock Forums

    You're annoying... Jesus Christ.

As for the rank it is a requirement on some servers but it's never been a requirement here or any of Noobcrew's servers. Just be active in game and on forums and be friendly.

donor has nothing to do with mods, its just donors are normally more well known so more people support them :/

btw I know nobody said it yet but donor does nothing to do with getting mod. I hope that what I'm saying has an impact over what everyone else is saying cause what I'm saying is way different!!!!

It's possible for the green-beans to get noticed.
Gotta get out there, Have BIG ideas, and do BIG things.
It may be tough at first, but you'll make a name for yourself.

    Keep a good reputation.

Everyone's already said no, but I'll still contribute. No, you don't need to be a donor. It is a common theme that people who apply are donors, or who are mods are donors, but it doesn't necessarily increase or decrease your chances of becoming a moderator. It's like saying being rich will make you a presiden- wait, nevermind.
