LegoCollector14 thats what i was thinking but i cant speak english that well so i just wrote cooldown... yeah a cooldown wouldnt be such a problem but that is sh** Gesendet von meinem SM-G920F mit Tapatalk
Having a cooldown for multiple commands is generally a great idea. But for one person to use one command, and having to wait 5-15 seconds IS rather annoying. Especially when you find that it has failed. And 20 seconds to trust someone to trade, just to find out you typed their name wrong.. To those being sarcastic and saying only babies can't wait the time, maybe you have the patience of a brick wall, but I'm used to typing a command and it happening. The lag feels no different in my opinion. It's always been pretty consistent. Works well, then spikes. Just like normal. Sent from my LGMS631 using Tapatalk
IMO, Completely retarded. The command is still being run, which still creates lag, but the players have to wait a WHOLE 10 SECONDS just for it to run.
Drogo isn't sure how it is supposed to reduce lag. Perhaps it takes that those seconds to queue the commands so they don't run simultaneously but given how few people are online, this would happen very rarely. If everyone is waiting 10 seconds, then Drogo can't see how it is of any help.
yall are making it sound like some awful emergency yeah ok its annoying, but its really not that bad. chill everyone
This is something I have trouble commenting on, for a few reasons. I don't play anymore, but I know this would piss me off if I did. When I used to play the lag wasn't bad even with hundreds of players online, but I'm sure the world size has increased even more since then (was like 30GB -- some crazy number). If there is the chance of a better way to fix the lag, prioritize doing that. This change is just bad.
If it's to reduce the amount of lag through reducing the amount of commands, this is completely useless, because if you want to go home, you will type home, no matter if it takes 0 or 10 seconds to get you there. It won't reduce the number of times you Need to go home so it won't reduce the Overall usage of the command. Unless some People were purposedly spamming the command to create lag. In that case, find a way to find the culprids and ban them, because creating lag on purpose is a bannable offence.
Even though I disagree with the change too, your logic is flawed. It's not put in to lessen the number of times the command is done, it's put in to lessen the FREQUENCY at which they're done. It spaces out the requests. Command #s don't just add up to a limit of some sort for the online session; once the command executes it moves on.
Well you're logic doesn't take account of the fact that you normally don't hit the command /home more often just because you can. You need to go home only every so often, when you NEED to. There is no advantage in typing home more often, so the average 24h frequency shouldn't increase without the cooldown. Example: I need to fill up my trade shop located at /home with stuff located at /homes. I transport full inventory each trip. I won't make less trips because of a cooldown, because I have to make a specific amount of trips to fill the shop. It will just take more time because of the cooldown. The overall frequecy /24h won't go up. Once I'm done, I'm done, I won't type home anymore.
