This would give all players a command, like /fafk.
When typed, it broadcasts to all of your friends (must be on your friends list) in chat that you are AFK.

There would also be an options menu to configure stuff such as automatically setting yourself as Friend AFK after a period of inactivity, if your friends get notified in chat about it, or if you'll appear offline on your friends list and in /fmsg while Friend AFK.

The default settings would be:
Friend AFK timer: Off
Friend notify: On
Appear offline while Friend AFK: Off

 

What about the Spam?

 

Oh, there would also be another option on your end if you want to get notified.
That shouldn't be a problem though if they're your friends.

I guess the way I view the whole messaging thing, is that you can mail people anyways. When I am gone, or I am afk, my friends /mail me. Neutral for now.

 

Um just saying 'afk' in chat seems is enough lol, or just let them know. Takes the same effort to type afk or /afk.

Essentials' mail isn't cross-server. The entire point of this suggestion is for a cross-server broadcast to your friends that you are AFK.

/afk is only for moderators. Giving it to players would be spammy. That's another reason why I suggested this. Just saying "AFK" in chat isn't going to broadcast it to all of your friends who may be playing on Org, or for a friend that joins 2 minutes after you type that.

More work on plugins makes you no support? Adding Mob Arena, trails, disguises, and a (currently broken) prefix changer is no work whatsoever to you guys?

No support. You can just /nick AFK or if you are not a donor, what I used to do is just log off for a few minutes if I was going to be afk so that people couldn't /msg me and then wonder why I wasn't responding.

This is supposed to be implemented into the /friends command. That's it.
You do not have to use it.
