I had recently conversed with a former mod a couple days ago, she said that she was just bored with MC, and wanted a break. It sounds like being a MOD is a lot of work, and can be tough at times. It's sad seeing some of them resign, however some seem to just want a break from the job. It gives a chance for entrepreneurs to apply for mod, and show their abilities, and their ideas.
A lot of times moderators resign because of the following: 1. School starting up, increased work, increased effort, leaves little time for moderating. 2. Unable to get online, irl issues, etc. 3. Lost interest in the server, moderating or minecraft. There are probably other reason but those are the main ones I've seen so far. It's not that they have a problem with the server or anything, they are just doing what's best for them at the moment. Although there has been plenty of resignations and demotions there are still plenty of active and great mods on the team. Instead of telling mods to stop resigning, try appreciating them more, write nice things on their profile, etc. I've noticed many mods go under appreciated for all their effort because players can't see them kicking, muting or banning and a lot of the times the only posts you see are about how the mods did something wrong/bad. They are only human and they always try their hardest to make the server a safe place for younger players. Not everyone wants to see sexual content and profanity 24/7
Isothermic has a point, adults start to find less time for pleasure. They got to work, and make a living. not to mention that being a mod on top of that is extra work, and they may find themselves just wanting to play the game without all that responsibility on their shoulders.
People come and go, that's just life. People still have to focus on their own lives just as much as their online lives. There is also school, family things etc. that people still have to focus on. : )
No mods resigned when the carrot thief was pulled. moderation isnt simple, they dont handle simple stuff. Jxnaa Queen
In the end they have every right to resign. Yes, it sucks to see one of your friends on the team quit or resign but that's life - people will come and go and there's not much you can do to control that.
