ds Even though it is a past event..its still not funny.. ok for few things it is but mostly not funny
who asked to see the yoga ball video? Whoever asked for it I'll post it in another thread, but BE WARNED YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE NOT ME
what did he do? He does have one good point and one bad point. The good point is that yes more people die everyday than what happened on 9/11 and the bad point is that most 9/11 jokes should be taken seriously
9/11 was one of the most tragic events ever. Since when do you believe it is alright to laugh about the death of thousands of people? You know it wasn't only that, the whole global economy almost collapsed. Everyone went into financial stress and there was a global financial crisis. The families of these people would still be crying today. I'm not saying that people in a war torn country don't deserve the respect that we all gave to the victims of 9/11, but we just don't hear about it as much as people think.
I don't think you understood completely what I meant. However we can say that "these jokes are not funny" and I agree. Some of them are just so rude and disrespectful. But then there are ones that make me feel like im going to hell for laughing at a bit. Its not that I am a terrible person its just my context and experience is different. I don't live in America, my parents never were involved in this. I was not personally affected and I never really paid attention to it. I, myself won't make 9/11 jokes. But any offensive jokes I would only share with close people.
Ok I gotta admit that you are right about that..But for some people it is mostly not, except for a few exceptions but 90% of the time, no it ain't funny.
Personally, I laugh at 9/11 jokes all the time. I make them myself. Why? Two reasons. A: I was there, about two blocks away, and I go by the rule that if I experienced it, I can laugh about it. And no, that's not my weird way of coping, I don't want to cope, because it happened almost 17 years ago. Which brings me to.. B: It was 17 years ago. It happened. It ended. The effects ended. Sure, people died, but dwelling on that is dumb. Move on already, laugh about it, make a joke or two. After all, why live in depression over the subject when you could laugh in a positive way about it? Now, I'm not saying people who joke in ways like "OH EM G 9/11 SHOULD'VE HAPPENED YSS" are the greatest people, but with the right about of sarcasm, and the right context, anything works. Trust me on that.
A part of the humor with things like this is that it is so uncalled for and horrible. People shouldn't be put down for what they find funny. Just be careful with who you share it with.
I personally find that they can be funny, but that's probably because I'm just f***ed in the head Anyways, when it comes to dark humor overall, I tend to link people to this video: It has some foul language, but if you start at 10:25 and watch until about 12:00, I personally agree with his statements made.
I think the issue is one of two things: people cannot get past the fact that dark humor is a thing, or these "jokes" are incredibly stupid, like "LOL ur grandad died on 9/11 tell him to say hi to osama." A joke has to have a joke in it, otherwise its just an edgy insult. Those who can't take jokes about things like 9/11 just can't grasp comedy; now I'm not saying you have to enjoy the jokes by any means, this is for those who think it is too extreme to even be allowed to say.
It's sort of like 'operating room humor', people joke about it so it doesn't seem so serious. While it is really not a fun topic, people can do it to play down and stay away from the truly horrific truth of what happened, or they're insensitive as f***.
