If you have ever tried to report somebody for spamming, you have probably noticed the lack of an actual template. This suggestion is to add an actual report template and include some important things. The closest thing we have right now is the grief template, which doesn't do normal reports justice.
Please note that I justify each of the items in the template.
Template:

1. Offenders IGN: You can't ban without that!
2. Proof (Full, un-cropped screenshots and /realname proof if applicable): Because ya need proof to ban (i hope)
3. Do we have permission to share your proof? This is the most important and un-obvious one here. This is needed because people might not want their proof to be shared. This would happen in several cases: A friend is snitching on another friend, or the reporter is afraid that the offender will try to get revenge on them.

In summary, I want to say that this doesn't need to be copied exactly, but we need an actual template for people to fill out.

EDIT: Players are not required to fill this out, it's just nicer.

No support. It's not necessary for people to go even more out of their way than they already do to report somebody. People wouldn't be bothered to write as many reports anymore.

 

If they aren't required to fill it out, it's useless, isn't it?

I think it was only used for griefs but because of island protection people stopped using it.

 

It's not useless for 2 reasons. Number 1: This makes is easier for the staff to process things so they don't have to ask questions.
Number 2: It adds the option to not share your proof with any non-staff members.

If staff need to ask questions the report is probably inadequate and if you don't want non-staff members seeing it just put it in hide.

 

Clearly you haven't read the whole thing. Sharing the proof would be done during the appeal of the offender. The offender might ask for proof in their appeal and notice who gathered the proof and exact revenge.

 

I support having a template but I wouldn't use this exact template.
