For some reason one day I no longer had control over half of my island. One side still belongs to me and I can interact with it, the other is acting like another island, controlled by another player. I have not discovered a way to fix this and I do not know what to do. I need help.

That is what I thought, but this didn't happen when I created the island, it just randomly changed and I no longer had control over the other half. Were the island boundaries moved and my island wasn't?

 

It might've been that you have built onto another island's "territory" before island protection was a thing.

 

Before this happened, though, I could build out to a limit until I was stopped. I had an island boundary. I just upped the render distance and I can see two other islands, one to the east and one to the west. My island seems awfully close to them, could my island be unlisted or something?

I know the island on the east has existed before this happened because when I first became a donor I was experimenting with the /jump command and I ended up on the island. The one in the west direction I have never seen, but it looks like a new island and could not be the source of the problem because the half I lost is on the east side.
