1. Always Buy/Sell Your Rares/Diamonds

To gain the most ammount of diamonds, you should always buy/sell your rares as much as possible. Hoarding your rares so that they gain worth almost never works. For example, a couple of months ago I though that it was a good idea to hoard my beacons, as I had four of them, and I thought that the price would raise. I waited about two months, and it did not change prices. When I could have profited off of rares, I hoarded them.

2. Don't Buy Something Unless You Know What It Is Worth

You can lose a lot if you buy something for much more than it is worth. One way to avoid that is if you only buy something when you know it's worth. For example, if Billy Bob just notices that a Super Rare Potato exists, he should NOT buy it. Even if the person selling it says it's worth x diamonds, you should not buy it. This is further explained in #3.

Exceptions: I'm going to give an example for this one. Someone was selling a rare spawner, and I thing that it was rare, but I was not sure. He was selling it for a small ammount and I thought that it was worth much more. I, personally, did not care if that spawner was worthless, as I barley payed anything, and the item may have been worth a ton.

3. Unfortunately, It Is Hard To Trust Anyone

When trading, many people are willing to lie (which is wrong by the way, as further explained why on #4). If you don't know that value of an item, do the following. You should try to get an opinion from a multitude of people. You should get said opinion from someone who owns that item, someone you can trust, or a trustable trading thread on the forums.

4. Never Lie

Lying is bad, and it will come back to haunt you. There is always a way to find out the real truth. Your rares may be reversed, or you may lose trading partners (as further explained in #5.). For example, if you lie to someone, not only will they not trade with you, they will tell onpther people not to trade with you. If you have nobody to trade with, you can't trade at all!

Exceptions: None, why would you lie anyways? It is a computer game.

5. Trading Partners Matter

Well, as said in #4, without anyone to trade with, you can't trade. It is good to have a few trading partners to help with your constant strand of trading.

If you're unsure about the trustworthiness of the person you may be trading with, it's a good idea to also record the interaction and take screenshots of your chat.

 

You can always ask a moderator to watch the trade as well.

Yes, I totally agree. I was going to say that my rule is either you go first, or you get a mod to watch the trade.

 

Always chest trade your rares. It'll be easier for mdoerators to refund you because they'll also have logs of what happened.

 

Or have a moderator inventory trade.

 

There was once a warp with paths, a plane, and other buildings, and there was also a giant castle. In that castle there was an enchantmet table and there were also traderooms:
There were 2 pressure plates and one chest in the middle. If one player is standing on one player the door is closed, when both stand on the pressure plates the door is closed too, but if nobody's standing on the pressure plates, then the door is open. So both players put their items inside, and if one of them didn't get his/her item, he/she can just stay on the pressure plate. I don't remember if you could do /warp or /home or anything, but I think not.

Why I am saying this is because it was a perfect way to trade, that's why I was planning to rebuilding it on my island. But I hadn't time for that yet and I also don't know how to do this, so it will take some time. Note that if I doit on my island you can still type /home or /warp spawn, so it won't be that good.

Wow, all I did was mentioning the old traderooms (Do they still exist? I think the warp was removed...) and quoting others...

 

The warp was called skybase and it got removed because of island protection and a new island destroyed it anyways. There were three versions of it. Old oldest one got removed in 2014. The next one lasted for about a year and the newest one for a couple months then it was removed.

if both players just stand there waiting for the other player to go first, its going to be kind of pointless, so i recommend just getting a mod

 

Well, in rare trading, to earn, another must be at the losing end of the stick, there is no point in making a thread to teach rare trading :/
Just get a few lucky trades and u can monopolise the market when you have a small pot of gold....

 

As said, chest trade to have it logged if you think there is a chance of being scammed. Alternatively, have a mod who's up for it middle man the trade. No risk there.
