Whatever you are hoarding, chances are it can be streamed nowadays. I doubt these are personal files, unless you're into video editing.

Roughly 8TB of it is my Plex Media library. The rest is 4k video files for a project I've been working on.

 

I have a laptop with a dual-core i7 6th gen CPU, a terrabyte hard drive, a GTX 940m GPU with 4G of dedicated vRAM, and 8 gigabytes of RAM

The dual-core is a bit annoying, and the terrabyte hard drive has slow read speed. The graphics are decently good though. Essentially it's a decent gaming PC that was built to say "screw modded minecraft. I won't run that," which I find annoying. Everything else runs great however.

Finally upgraded my secondary monitor, too. Dat ultrawide goodness.

 

Yea sadly my server is full of 8x4TB WD Reds and still filling them up. Bought a few server cards for expanding more SATA slots. It's not the actual storage its building redundancy into the system that's the killer.
