Thanks again for all the support ^-^ It really means a lot. I'm working on the criticisms that were mentioned
One things I have to say is you don't have to ask in chat for who needs help, players will come to you they need assistance.
Suggested listening: Rachel Platten - Fight Song (AMV) It is entirely possible for everyone to take the best possible action while still guaranteeing complete failure for the group. If someone has a choice between taking one sandwich from a tray (slowly starving) or grabbing two (more than they can eat, but not starving) then of course the best option is taking two. Do that with a line of fifty people and you'll see twenty-five of them dead of starvation. Any competition for a finite resource-- such as a staff position-- is going to get this treatment. Some people deserve it more but will never get the chance: It's not malice. It is game theory in action. Nice to meet you, Mr. Mingo. Your name makes me wonder if you have business cards with "The Merciless" printed on them. +1 for listing an accurate time zone. This application is starting off better than the Challenger launch. The Land of Horrific Spiders. +1 for surviving to an age you can learn about online games, Mr. Merciless. You forgot "Aussie". Don't worry, no negatives here: Just amused. NOT WORTH IT MAN. DON'T SCREENSHOT. I am more excited than a clown in a pie factory. Give me a moment to settle in and get in the groove here. So far this has been an excellent start, high hopes for this one. Alright, ready to go! As a reminder the rules of this game are: 1 drink for spelling errors, grammar mistakes and/or poor word choice. 1 drink for going off topic. 2 drinks for non sequitur statements. 1 shot for contradicting sentences. Let's get this party started. YES. Two gulps immediately. The only winner here is going to be the gastroenterologist I pay for a liver transplant. "Asking for feedback" and "wanting to help others" does not link together. These need to be separate statements -OR- put them together with supporting sentences. For example: "I want more people to read my application and provide feedback[main statement]. This helps me learn what people look for in a moderator[supporting statement] and helps me become a better candidate for a staff position[supporting statement]. I believe helping others is the first step[linking sentence!] and I already enjoy helping others to improve their SkyBlock experience." This sort of "natural flow" is tough to pick up on but insanely valuable to any sort of application-- not just SkyBlock. Any sort of educational program or opportunity that requires you to write an essay will be impressed if you can pull off a couple paragraphs like this. Two more gulps. This input is unsustainable, Doctor Jim. Rephrase this. If you want to capitalize on the good things you've done for the community then state it that way, sir. "One of the hardest things for new players to do is gather hard to find materials. To help with this I have spent weeks designing an island with free to use grinders for everyone. Not content with that[see that linking statement?] I have been looking for opportunities to help a larger audience". She can't take much more of this, captain! •five drinks and a shot• I'm feeling a little woozy now. Slow down there, Ray Rice: Save those hits for later. Please remove anything from your job application about how the current group of Moderators aren't doing enough for the server. You are indirectly telling the guy who promoted them (Cypriot) he's doing a bad job with hiring. Not the best way to be selected. Perhaps rephrase this to something like: "I see a time zone I think I could fill to make sure the server always has good coverage. This will make sure questions get answered and someone is always keeping an eye on things". Do you see how this avoids blaming anyone for a situation they can't control? OH. That entire portion above this was a preamble?! Giant -1, Mr. Merciless. Move everything you said above here into the appropriate header below this. It is utterly ridiculous to type that much and then say the exact same thing later in the application. Glancing over everything below here I can tell you: It's popcorn filler. This is all headers and one-liners, you are not explaining anything, detailing why it matters or providing examples of how you demonstrate each quality. You cannot "prove" maturity with a two-line entry in an application. This topic is huge, but mostly boils down to how you treat others over time and the effort you put into the community. Remove this, or expand GREATLY. You need supporting statements: How do you show maturity? Why is it important to a Moderator? Etc. "I honestly have never lied. I would never do that because honesty is something I have and I wouldn't ever stop being truthful." -- Honesty is a weird quality: The more you talk about being honest the less everyone believes you. How about switching this to "Integrity"? You can explain why integrity is important to a Moderator and how you personally do your best to act in a way that doesn't compromise your principals. We all understand about trying to do the right thing... but nobody believes everyone is 100% honest, all the time. +1 for starting to explain why "honesty" is important to the role. You didn't go any farther, though. Whyyyyyyyy is this impooooooortant to the joooooooob?? Yes, we already know the answer. But this application is about you, not your audience! Take a moment to detail why being unbiased is important to the job you're applying for and provide examples of how you intent to use this skill on the job. 1 drink. Feeling peculiar now. YES. Keep this going! You started with a trait you have, explained why it mattered to the job and then started providing examples of how friendly staff members help the community. DON'T STOP. Make all of your qualities like this! Worthless. Remove this, you're repeating "Honest" and not adding anything. If you are going to keep this part please say something new and original. 1 drink... Worthless. Either remove this or move all of that stuff in your huge opening paragraph about helping others down here into this part. Don't say the same thing multiple times-- most people stopped reading after your Wall 'O Text at the beginning, Mr. Merciless. If you are going to keep this, please remember: Explain why it matters to the job, then provide details of how you personally demonstrate this trait and what you plan to do with it as a staff member. 1 drink... •downs a shot• Oh God. What have I done. I call more B.S. than Donald Trump's acceptance speech. "2 to 16 hours per day" is how people casually brag to their friends about their first sexual encounter. That didn't happen, bro. Provide a schedule. Are you volunteering for the midnight to 2am shift? Or would you like the 6pm to 10am run? I hear lack of sleep does wonders for concentration. You can't be hired unless we have an idea of when the heck you'll be available. Since you made it a huge point to slam the current staff for not being online you obviously have a time schedule in mind: What is it...? •2 drinks• ARGHHH. Experience is the #1 thing that gets someone hired for any position. What did you do for those other servers? Were you the head plugin developer? The minigame Moderator? Were you in charge of in-game erotic friend fiction!? More detail here, please! You are quite welcome, Mr. Merciless. I rather enjoyed going thr- -ough this application. •cough, wheeze• Overall you did a pretty run-of-the-mill job here; nothing that would make you really outstanding but also nothing horrible either. Take some time, move that huge preamble down into the correct "Qualities" headers and spend a few moments fleshing out each portion. This could be alright. Support Status: Not Bad (Explain a lot more on your qualifications)
100% I have seen you active a lot on skyblock.net. You are really nice to everyone and I think you will follow the Moderator Requirements.
90% support. Your active in-game and on the forums and your application is nice, but I'm not sure I really see you helping many people.
Support!! Mingo should be a mod 100% he is such a kind person I see him helping people all the time, if I ask him for help he always help me. Everyone makes great use of his grinder island !! stone king lol
