I was looking back at all of my old youtube videos today and saw one with the old spleef arena built by myself and the rest of the org mod team at the time. I thought that maybe it would be a cool idea to implement the arena again and give players something else to do other than just build on their island and play in the mob arena.
Anyways, I just thought it was a cool idea and thought maybe it would be added again. Here is the video of the arena:

yes, but this was an official spleef arena where winners would get monetary prizes in game for winning/having the most wins. It was a great way of bringing the community together, but also a way of earning money will doing something fun, not grinding at a skeleton/creeper farm or sitting afk at a netherwart farm. It's something enjoyable that will keep players on the server.

Yes maybe a net thing as well, but at the same time I think it should be something that is unique to org. Net gets a lot of love that org does not get, rightfully so because it is the bigger server and the more profitable one as well. However, this is something that could make org unique and bring more players back to org and give an overall more enjoyable community experience.

 

That is a good idea keeping it an org thing, but I feel like we should still have spleef on net. The mob arena was only an org thing for a chunk of time, then it came back to net. During that period players went to org to go to the mob arena. If it's only on org, players would just go to org to play it. However, not a lot of players would play the spleef arena on org since there's not that much players on time to time.

 

I like keeping it an org thing for the reasons mentioned above. What I underlined in your quote contradicts itself, or at least seems to. The spleef arena would bring a lot of people back to org and bring more people on to play it, if it were an only org thing. The player base would therefore rise, maybe not that much but a little so that at most times people would be able to play spleef with others. It would be an enjoyable thing to re-add to org.

 

That's because org isn't nearly as big as net. Much more people play on net and that's why it sometimes gets more attention than org, but that's because it needs more attention.

A lot of people don't like org because it the economy server. The spleef arena would bring people too it, but they most likely wouldn't stay. It would be more reasonable to add the spleef arena to net, but I still think org should get something, which is why I want spleef added to both servers.

 

For the first part; yes I admitted net is bigger and gets more attention because it needs it. It's been like that for a while now. I've been here since early 2013, I know, I've been through it. I've moderated on org and I've seen it all happen first hand, there is no need to say that net needs more attention because it's the bigger server, we all know that.
For the second part; If adding it to org would bring a few players, of which a limited amount would actually get into playing on org rather than net, why add it onto both servers? Give org something unique that net doesn't have, after all it was like that before the reset. You're reasoning behind adding it to net as well as org is that net is the bigger server and needs more attention. Although there is some sense to it, why would you add it to both then because that would be making no difference at all. This suggestion was made to give org something unique, something that net doesn't have.

 

No, my reason for adding it too net is players enjoy it. Yes the server is bigger, which means more people can enjoy spleef, and play on the server they prefer. If people want to play on org, they can play spleef. If players want to play on net, they can play spleef. If people don't want to play on org, then they don't want too. And instead of continuing to try to bring players to org, we should give them what they want on both servers, so everyone can enjoy spleef and enjoy the server they prefer.

A player base, attention, incentive to join, TLC...I could go on. Net doesn't need to pull more players in. Org does.

No. The rewards are negligible. Spleef is for fun, not monetary gain.

That's because people like the concept of net. Org can't pull in more players because people just don't enjoy it.

 

Yeah but it doesn't have anything feature-wise that org doesn't. People play on net because they like it better. Forcing people to switch servers just to play a game like spleef is so unnecessary.
