You may not always like what I have to say but for real there has been so many scams lately I'm just disappointed people are not being careful. Stop using user run banks, you don't need to line other peoples pockets for trading for you and risking losing your rares to someone. Stop trusting your rare items to anyone but staff. Stop taking "i'll pay you later deals". Ask mods to hold items for an upgrade, theres no rush to trade. ALWAYS make trade arrangements in game and not on skype etc ALWAYS video your trades Don't use book and quills for trade arrangements Don't share accounts Do not take upgrades from someone with a lower rank or equal rank than what you are asking for Protect your accounts with a strong password, 2 factor your email account and forums If you need to chest trade make sure to lock the chest to your name and add the recipient to avoid invisible players intercepting a trade. Always do /near when drop trading. Don't trust anyone you don't properly know. On the flip side, just because youre friends with somebody doesnt mean they are trustworthy. Credit Zephyr The point is Staff can't always find or get back your items, especially rares so this makes it much more important to look after what you have. Don't be a victim.
Awesome thread. It is sad how many people sometimes get scammed and can't get refunded because they didn't use methods to capture evidence that proves they were scammed.
Then that would be your own issue. There are so many mods who time and time again prove they are trustworthy not only to Cyp but to other players who appreciate the work they put in. Good luck not being scammed.
i feel like this is going to be a big help for a lot of people. maybe add something along the lines of just because youre friends with somebody doesnt mean theyre trustworthy. pin-worthy.
great thread, Krissy. :~) also, if you're buying rank upgrades from a player make sure you both know what rank they're getting for whoever and the proper IGN - and always ask a moderator to supervise a rank upgrade trade, if there is no staff on be patient and wait for one to get on, it's not worth the risk.
Krissy this is amazing. I think this will benefit a lot of users. Also, you might want to suggest that using tradeshops are safer than manual trading, just an idea. #pin
