So I've recently come back to the forums and with the release of Pokemon Sun and Moon, I was spontaneously curious as to what the Pokemon community here entails. Being an avid Pokemon player myself, I love talking about it! So basically, this thread is for anyone and everyone who knows everything or knows nothing about Pokemon to have a discussion about it. Here's some topics to get you started: What do you think of Pokemon Sun and Moon? What of the competitive scene, in the past and with the release of generation VII? Discussion on Trading Card Game (TCG) and Video Game Competition (VGC) Manga/Anime? I can update this and add more topics of discussion if people gain interest. I can even turn the main thread into a bulletin of sorts! But for now, get talking! I want to know what everyone's thinking! Also going to add a quick SPOILER warning for anyone that hasn't beaten SuMo yet and plans to
Sun and Moon is alright it gets boring though over time it's the same thing over and over again beat the trials blah blah blah wasn't even a challenging game towards the ending. The anime so far it's ehhh in between cancerous and alright.
I guess I'll get my input out there. So I finished the main story of Moon over Thanksgiving break, and boy lemme tell you, it was FANTASTIC. It was just absolutely incredible! The music was great, the gameplay was smoother than ever, and the removal of HMs—oh baby, the removal of HMs! No more did I have to waste a slot on my team for an HM slave! All of the new Pokemon are cool too. I wanted to use a team of all new ones, like Vikavolt, but I was completely turned away from it after learning you can only get a Charjabug to evolve into Vikavolt in the postgame. That was pretty disappointing to me, so I ended up using a Jolteon (should've used Alolan Raichu tbh, but Jolteon is my favorite Pokemon). The one gripe I have about the new Pokemon as a whole is their base stats...everything is either slow or has absolutely no HP to speak of! Especially the starters. It was really frustrating to not be able to choose a starter without a high base Speed stat. The other problem that I have with the game as a whole is how annoying it is to catch wild Pokemon now...they can call for help just like Totem Pokemon can! While you're working on whittling it's HP down to red, it'll call for help, and then you can't throw any balls until you defeat the other one. It's also pretty scary when a Bagon calls for help and Salamence appears early game. So I also thought the story was really good. I'm going to drop that in a spoiler since there are, in fact, MAJOR SPOILERS that I'm about to mention. So those are my thoughts on SuMo right now, like I said I've just completed the main story and reached the Battle Tree. I haven't started any of the postgame content yet, so I'll have to see what that entails as well as what the competitive scene is like. I also have yet to explore all of that Festival Plaza stuff, etc. Up until this point, Heart Gold and Soul Silver have always been praised as the best games in the series, and I agreed with that (note that there is a difference between what I think is the best and what my favorites are, my favorite games are Emerald and Platinum). But now, a lot of people are saying that SuMo trumps even HGSS, and I agree with that! One other thing: I really want to try malasada now! tl;dr: I love the game. I have negligible problems with it. The story is amazing, the Pokemon are amazing, most of the new features are amazing. Play the game if you haven't and are thinking about it.
I will concede that the game is really slow to start but it picks up after you beat the second Kahuna. As for the anime....I watched the first episode, absolutely hated it
i have pokemon sun and my 3ds arrives in 3 days but im kind of disappointed about the lack of 3d and how do you use hms if theyve been removed?
The 3D function sucks tbh. But that's just my opinion. If you really want to see what it's like, XY and ORAS have plenty of 3D-enabled moments EDIT: Forgot to acknowledge the HM part lol, HMs are replaced by the Ride Pager. It's a very nice feature How come
It was so different from the other games and it didn't fit a good Pokemon game to me Also wayyyyy too much dialogue at the beginning
From what I've seen the games aren't as good as the oldies. But I don't have time to play it myself anyway so.
I don't get sleep cause I'm in IB studying the whole f***ing time ://///////^ Then I get like an hour a day to actual do some personal stuff but I end up watching TV or something.
I can agree with that a bit, while I was playing it didn't feel like a Pokemon game. But I still liked it. And yeah. Beginning is too slow. Don't get me wrong oldies are golden but SuMo is good *high fives* same man I'm in all honors/AP courses
