I see several threads about getting new players to join skyblock, but what about keeping them? I thought up and tried a few ways that I know makes them stay. This is specific for org, but somewhat valid for net. 1st, the most obvious, donate stuff. Just give them an enchanted pick, some food, and a bit of cobble. Like $200 worth of stuff, not that much. It makes their life a whole lot easier and doesn't cost you much. 2nd, answer their questions. Usually its easy stuff like "Where's the shop?" or "How do I check my money?" Rarely, they'll say "Where are the challenges?" but that's still easy to answer. Doing this makes them comfortable and helps them understand the server. If they can understand this, they are more likely to stay. 3rd, welcome them. I have a strange habit of watching tab (in org) and always know when somebody joins the server. So if I see a name I don't recognize, I do /spawn and if the name appears in /near (0-5m) then I conclude that they are new and say "IGN, welcome to skyblock." If you are quick on the draw about this, they will feel important and be more likely to stay. Then, you can do the other 2 things. Lastly, if they say "WTF WHERES MY ISLAND I LOST EVERYTHING HELP MOD ADMIN!" then calmly tell them to do /survival. The last 2 are more specific to ORG, but still important on net. Just try these things out, and more people will join and then stay with us.
