We all make threads and posts hating and arguing against or with each other - sometimes rightly so. But we need to always remember that if it weren't for the courageous soldiers who fought for their countries in WW1 and 2, there would be no "skyblock forums" for people to dispute about this or that in the first place. Be grateful people. There's always someone who's living a worse life than you. Just... think and never forget... our freedom only exists on the sacrifices of others. Peace.
I decided to not wear a red poppy today at school assembly. I wore a white poppy to symbolise the people who had died and the peace at 11 O'clock. (Of course I still had one in my pocket though). In tutor-group this morning we watched a video and it was very sad
Recited this at my school's ceremony. Lest we forget: In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.
I went to a USVA meeting for my grandfather. He fought on the front lines of Vietnam and passed recently. It was an honor to meet all these people who served.
The past few days I've made it my duty to approach people wearing poppies, especially older people. Sometimes I just approach to fix their poppy (the leaves are meant to be pointing at 11 o'clock) and to have a chat but you'd really be surprised at some of the stories and the reasons why people wear them.
