Problem: No easily visible guides for new players to the server.
Suggestion: Make an island as a tutorial for new players, set it as a new warp, and advertise it at spawn.

When I joined this server last year there was a list of all the warps at spawn. One of the warps was an island dedicated to showing how things were built and how they worked. I remember there was the simple cobble generator and the outdated lava generator (out dated because of the 1.8 update) and some other builds. (It was /warp faq !!! Thanks Vikki!) Being able to easily find the list of warps at spawn and the teaching island really helped me start out.

Unfortunately that informative island disappeared many many months ago. /Warp Noobspawn and /warp info is pretty much in shambles.

New players join this server all the time. And I constantly see them asking beginner questions such as:
How to build a cobble gen?
How to grow cactus?
Where are the warps?
What do I do here?
How do I play?
How to make a shop?
How do I restart my island?
How do I get grass blocks?
Do mobs spawn on this server?
How do I vote?
And tons more

Right now it's up the the older players and mods to help out beginners. We try, but we cannot answer all the questions in chat. Things get missed and unfortunately many new players do not come back. Answers to some of these questions are at various warps, but those warps are not on signs at spawn. Also /warp and /warps remains broken for non donor players.

I suggest that we offer more help to new players. Let us have one place that acts as a the major teaching resource for Skyblock.net. Let that new warp be advertised at /spawn. Let us be more welcoming to new players. Let us allow them to help themselves. Let us bring new life into this server.

Paying 5 Grass blocks to who ever finds an error on a sign at /visit skyblockhelp. We're really trying to turn it into a server warp now! We are so close to finishing this place now! /msg cyk753 in game!

 

Well cyp has been more active now. A new /recipe command on .net, some more on .org. Seems he is checking forums a little.
